I'm playing on Xbox and I try to be competitive as best that I can. I've been able to move up this year pretty well and now playing in PGA. Inconsistency has hit me a bit, but I feel like it's more me than the game (at least I like to tell myself that). First round I shot -11 with a ridiculous bogey on 14, but I at least wrapped it around 2 eagles at 13 and 15. I plan on playing round 2 tonight so we'll see how that goes. I feel like I should be able to compete with any of the consoles. I'm not going to pretend like I know the data or the information that goes along with the differences between PC, PS4 and XB1. However, I'm trying to put it out of my mind and see if I can be consistent as possible. Also, I believe that putting is the savior out here. Even if you're not within 5 ft, if you can drop a bunch of 10-20 footers, you can still be competitive. Easier said than done I know. Long live XB1

Its a real shame about the cross platform differences - but they are large. I switched from PC to PS4 and am now clawing my way back up... from not making cuts in the Euro Tour to a T6th on PGA last week.
I didn’t buy a PS4 for it - but when I switched I did need to buy a screen for it - a 56inch 4K tv hung on a spare wall in the office pretty much just to play this game... oh and hung a 27 inch screen next to it so I can 2nd screen the real golf while I play 🤭

Yes that is what it's like. .... *if your method/setup/hardware produces the short swing. It’s not like that for everybody. 😏 So now the short swing guarantees perfect tempo too? News to me

Round 1 in at -10. 😊😊
Some of my BEST ball striking I've had in a tour round. Actually putted extremely well for not making very many. Hit the flag on 2 which cost me a 4. Burned a TON of edges. Tap in eagle on 8. Did I mention how close EVERY putt I had was to dropping? 15 saw me short and roll back in the heavy. Played the shot of the round from a 60% lie that hit the stick and stopped dead. Hit a beautiful cut 4 iron to 7 feet on 18 that left me a HUGE bender...in the clown's mouth! 😏😏
Round 2 tomorrow and hope to do well again. Good luck all! 😊😊

Round 2 - much, much better...but still out of it after that 1st round. Will take 2 more really good rounds to get around my top 5 goal.

Just finished my last 2 rounds of the tournament...and despite not actually playing this event for real i was still somewhat nervous lol
-5 -8 -5 -6
Love this rendition of Augusta and thought it played very true. Played consistent and overall satisfied by my play which included some real head scratching misses along with some unbelievable shots. My highlight might have been on #10 in round 2 where i hooked my shot into the trees and was left with a 239 yard shot from the rough where i hit a 2 wood to about 8 feet and made birdie. Made 2 eagles in the final round which was going along great until my birdie putt on 16 ended up an inch short, then missed a 6 foot birdie on 17 and a 6 foot par on 18. Crummy way to end but all in all i think i played ok for a guy that barely makes cuts on the Web.

Watched a video of a PS4 round, and the guy had 100% perfect downswing tempo, and not a single swing made it to the top of the cone. The guy (I won’t name them) has absolutely terrible distance control, but knowing he was getting an arrow straight perfect downswing EVERY time meant he left enough shots within 15ft to be contending. Pretty frustrating to see someone with zero finesse not only on the top tour, but actually contending. How is the API not weeding these people manipulating the system out?
If you think I’m talking about you - I probably am.

It’s clearly not a level playing field Dan. The PS4 guys have a definite advantage. If they all think they’re on the top tour on merit they’re kidding themselves.

What if I said I don't remember the last time I've had a downswing that WASN'T perfect?!!?? I just can't putt. Also, I never hit straight shots. Lmaoooooo! Edit: Yes, I know.........PS4.

Far-Gone It's like the Wild West in here! Masters week as well... PS4 easy mode - As far as perfect downswings go, I'm susceptible fasts and very fasts, as I like to play the game with the creativity that those shots afford me. If I wanted perfect tempo every time I could definitely train myself to get that. Back in the short swing days where I walked the API tightrope, I did find tempo easier to hit. I play the game a different way now, so wrong to directly compare the swing methods vs tempo accuracy. I don't ever feel like I get shafted by randomness in the tempo though - It's usually down to me.
