Yet again i have a torrid time and even though i started off semi alright i caved in after a few holes in round 2 and just rushed it and came in very angry. R1: 63 (-8) R2: 76 (+5) Total: -3 This is obviously yet another missed cut and it's getting boring pretty fast playing these tournaments. I have an alright time when making birdies but as soon as i have one of my trademark very slow downswings or i make a bogey my mood just completely drops. Playing casual rounds is so much more fun than playing competitively because playing in this situation is very stressful for me. I can't remember if i said this last week but i'm not sure how long will last. Anyway i hope everyone plays well and good luck!

Pretty meh opening two rounds
-4 -8
Missed a simple 9ft birdie putt at the last in R2, which I have a sneaking feeling will cost me (yet) another cut.....

Let me think about this for a second. The Valero Texas Open... played at "The California Tour Club"?

I played, I sucked, I finished. See you next week. Not having much fun lately. I agree, seemed odd seeing the Hollywood sign for this tourney.

I have the clubhouse lead on PS4, it's probably good for a top ten but I expect to miss the number by about 5 strokes. I like the course. I played a few practice rounds and could not miss on the greens. Didn't putt so well in the real thing as often happens, but had some decent control of my golf ball in both the long and short game.
I'm glad to be back in some sort of competitive form after two weeks wandering in the wilderness. Comes as quickly as it goes I guess.

65-62-63-62 - 32 under total.
Some good, some bad, some ugly. Need to sharpen up on the greens especially.
See y'all at Magnolia

Played off the reservation poorly but good to be back after 6-7 weeks off.
Was crushing it double digits under par during a couple practice rounds while not playing all that great.
Then tournament begins and i missed three putts under 7 feet in 1st 2 holes and i was kinda checked out after that.
Course was meh. A few good holes. But way too many uber uphill mid to long iron shots to somewhat tight pins imo. Piece of land as a whole looks cool tho.
Good luck to everyone still playing!
Edit: Good to see I still have an absurd amount of fast downswings in my game. Nothing makes me want to bang my head against a wall more then making 3 birds in a row then getting a fast downswing with a wedge on the next hole...hits a slope and leaves me 60 feet away. Some things never change. Lol.

-3 -2 for a missed cut. Hated everything about set up this week. Helicopter or zip line required to transport players between shots at times. My pilot was f##k#d!! Surprised I finished R2 in all honesty. Onwards...

Let me think about this for a second. The Valero Texas Open... played at "The California Tour Club"? It wasn’t intended to be this way, but had to use a backup course and California Santa Ana better represents the San Antonio area than many other locales and places in the game

Stopped from middle of my planned two rounds to comment: Course looks stunning with the views. Reminds me of Riviera in that respect. It's also fitting that you see the 'Hollywood' sign right off of the bat, because it plays as fake as a Kardashian body part. -Way too many of the elevation changes felt forced and not natural -Cutoffs exactly where club distance/cut-offs make it feel very artificial instead of feeling natural -Some greens too small for where the pins are. Elevation changes will need adjusted runout, but the landing areas feel too tight -Putting bunkers and fairway cutoffs right at club distance cutoffs and bounces aimed into many of them -All of the above all add up to contribute to a feeling that difficulty was sculpted from a designer(s) mind and not from the land itself
-Texas Open played on a California golf course fits the artificial vibe of the playability within my rounds, IMO
Back to finish R2

I thought the course was a fun challenge! The same can not be said about the game mechanics however...how does a 32 yd flop played with a 36 yd club from a 87%-93% lie in light rough go 22 yds?!? (perfect-perfect)

Great course. Managed -14 at the cut line. Think that will be safe but "These guys are good"

60, 67, 60, 61. -36. Should make cut, but you never know. Like most pro golfers in the middle of the pack, just can't put 4 rounds together. Always one round where I I'm just too errenous. Love the course, a proper mix of holes that radically change with the wind.
