I for one would love to watch live some head to head match play from this tourney, does that have a chance to happen? Hopefully in 10-20 minutes it will

Chris Sickinger has been subbed into Group J as a replacement for David Culver who is not able to play this week.

R2: Was -9 through 12 then shat the bed to finish -8. R3: Speed (YOLO!) golf after the R2 collapse and I shoot a -9 in the tougher conditions.
Believe I will come up short with those totals.
Excellent choice for a Match Play event! Loved the course and the challenge.

Not sure I can make it happen, fadgewacker. My new schedule is complete bullshit. 😡😡 However, I'm going to play Round 1 tomorrow. Possibly Round 2. Depends if I sh%$ the bed. 😂😂 Edit: I can attempt Round 2 Wednesday at around 730-8 am CST. Whatever odd ass time that is for you. 😊😊 It would have been fantastic mate, but that’s lunch time for me, and I’ll be at work Good luck anyhow!!!

Freakin’ tempo glitchiness galore in my three rounds. Started off round 1 with par/birdie/birdie/par then about the next 8 swings in a row were fast downswings. So there was a trip and a double in there. I think I was E after 9. Then more fast crap throughout. Holed out a 170yd approach on 18 for eagle and a -2 for the round and ran from the 18th approach to the clubhouse, went into the bathroom and into a stall and cried quietly for a while.
After round 1 I rebooted by ps4. Thought that fixed the fasties as I wasn’t seeing them on the front 9. And I was at -9 after 9. Thinking I was poised for a great score round 2, the fast bullcrap started again. Bogie birdie fast bogie par birdie whatever. Finished the round at -10. Walked behind the clubhouse this time, rolled one, smoked it, kicked the shite out of a nearby trash can, and chilled.
Round 3 had some more fast crap, always on the easier shots that would cost me an otherwise sure birdie. The wind was tough. And on at least two occasions the fast downswing actually helped. Shot -10 on that one. Looking at the leaderboard that score was competitive.
Too bad. I felt I really could have scored well this week.
You are welcome you guys in my group. Obvious loss for me in round 1, good chance of a win round 3, it’s going to hinge on my matchup in round 2 probably. I know it’s hole by hole matchups but my brain is too old to worry about that. .
At least no red marks this week. Good luck all. I like the format. It was a fun change to the usual!!

Well mde, you handily won round 2 against me. I played some holes this morning against your ghost and was down like 6 down or something with like 5 holes to go before I had to leave for work.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but in all honesty TGCT would be as well limiting the WGR Matchplay for the top 20 players only. I thought same last year. I’d much rather let the elite play this and have a crack at the PGA with the big guns away and acting all ‘rocher’ like. 😉 Enjoyed the rounds none the less, probably three losses. Well done to all those who move on to the later rounds.

For me, I am not a fan of the Group Stage portion. Never have been. I have advanced from it, not played in it (on PGA when Rocher only were allowed), and have (likely) been eliminated in it, so have seen it from all ends of the spectrum. Should be Single Elim right from the get-go. I think that may be part of the issue - feels contrived and like a watered down compromise solution?! I realize this is a IRL mimic going on here. Maybe that is where some of the apathy comes from?
Bring back the wheel for the matchups and go single elimination! It isn't going to matter to someone who has a bad week/round regardless of format, but it does make it harder for those squeaking in to the back end of the event to advance onward in the Group Stage format. One upset is all it takes to advance under single elimination. Possible for sure. But to up their game to (mostly) out-play three others statistically "better" than they are in three matches is less likely. Also seems odd to be able to advance with a loss (2-1-0) or with just one win in three matches (1-0-2).

I find it's hard to get into a rhythm in matchplay, but that's my fault for waiting and playing someone's ghost instead of just playing all the rounds in a row like my usual routine.

I would like to be able to play the PGA main event if you don’t qualify for the Weekend. Basically, no points for matchplay unless you make top 16.
