Tie breakers have usually been a count back starting at #18 of Round 4 in a normal tournament. If that rule was in effect you would have lost on #13, however when it comes to Match play there have been a few different formats. I'm even thinking that wasn't the first one based on WGR if you tied? I could be wrong but something has stirred that memory. Last year's event had the same rules and Brad Garcia beat Sloan in the exact same situation in the finals. s3.amazonaws.com/challonge_app/match_attachments/assets/000/326/807/

If you did front 9 id of won on 9, bk 9 id of won on 11 and from 18 id of won usual tour crap tho. All event are sudden death but you put this as total for 9. Bellends!!

If it was a count back he would have won, but it was B9 Score first as is indicated in the graph. I have no idea why Doyley went to this format but it was spelled out in the beginning. I was feeling sorry for some of the guys that had three way ties in their group and missed out, but I believe that the reasoning for the B9 rule is more to do with the group stage than the finals heads up. Makes it easier on the TD.

We have issues to fix with WGR (none given out) and will add Money and FedEx points tomorrow. This event is always a pain to finalize so it might take a day or two to get right. Thx for patience!

Looks like everyone got 2 demotion marks - we'll fix that too. Should note that this is the last year we'll run the match play - way too many headaches trying to finalize and fit this event into a website that is way too automated for it. Just doesn't fit into our daily schedules anymore. Was a good ride!

Those are easier since there is no FedEx/WGR or purse to deal with as well as no minor event that wreaks havoc on demotion marks for the people in the other event. So short answer, we still plan to do those during offseason.

So hold the event but do it "outside the system"?

To end it would be a shame because I know many feel it is great fun, a break from the norm and from a personal standpoint, was one of my favourite tournies of the year.
