I finished my first round -6, found it hard to get close to some of the pins. Nice looking course and a good challenge.

-4 🤔
Tough course for me in rd 1, hopefully partner can pick me up, specifically on holes 7,8, and 18. Could not find the damn fairway on this course. Great design and challenging track to kick off our season

Really challenging course (even more challenge when you can’t hit a straight shot or putt) hopefully my partner digsb can pick up some of my tremendous slack

This course doesn't fit my eye at all. Can't wait to get the next 2 rounds over with. I think I shot -2, -6.

And we're off
After all the discussions, line-up changes, confusion about who's doing what and what anybody is actually doing, a golf tournament has finally broken out.
All but four of the first rounds have been played and we actually have a result in the first round 4BBB match 4.
Round 1 Match 4 Four ball better ball
Ashton Fox (68) & Kevin McGuire (64) vs Simon Morris (64) & Leon Keet (59)
To the casual observer this looks like a blow out. CC-C yoyo man Leon produced in his own words, 'the sort of round I've been threatening', with a -11 assault on the course. Solid backup from Simon surely left no room for Ashton and Kevin?
Leon's birdie on the opening hole was cancelled out on the second when Kevin sunk a putt. Two halved holes then Leon eagled the driveable par-4 fifth. Two holes later Ashton's birdie squared the game and that's how it turned. Some sort of miraculous eagle from Kevin at 10 put the North American duo in front for the first time in the match and three halved holes saw them keep their advantage until the 14th. A birdie there and a second eagle by Leon on the short 15th saw the plucky British pair wrest the advantage back and go into the potentially tricky final stretch one point to the good.
Both sides birdied 16 and 17 and after Simon matched Ashton to half the last, the Morris/Keet combo would be glad to secure the first individual points of the tournament. Despite out scoring their opponents -17 to -8 overall, the beauty of better ball was shown, as Ashton and Kevin dovetailed to run them mighty close.
If that Vegas farce between Mickleson and Tiger was worth $9 million you have to ask yourself how much would the sports networks have paid for this?
Morris & Keet beat Fox & McGuire 4pts to 3 pts
Simon Morris (2pts) Leon Keet (2pts) Ashton Fox (0pts) Kevin McGuire (0pts)

Absolutely awesome summary! LOVE it Can you just do a breakdown of how each of the 4 and 3 points were won so "everyone" (probably just me!) Can continue to learn, and get used to, the scoring?? Pretty please!

Pretty please! In my best Bill Owensby teasing impression, As soon as I'm sure my spreadsheet is behaving as intended I will share the link so everyone can see how all of the matches resolve themselves. Oh stuff it, try this link to the results sheet

Good opening recap honeybadger64 Greg, instead of calling it the 'results sheet', should we call it 'nerd central'? If Celtic Wolf and TGCT had a 'love child' would he be called Greg McMillan? Just kidding, good job. I am one of the four you spoke about not having their first round played. I will get it in today.
