I think i'm losing interest, played 2 holes and wish i hadn't started, for the next 34 it was a 'somewhere there, whack' mentality, i will apologise because that is not fair on anybody here, and it is certainly not in anyway or form of how i have ever thought to behave. Maybe a break is required. Play well all and good luck. I feel ya mate... Dog toss -4 for me to open up... Didn't really give much of it my full concentration for some reason. Lovely course is this one, by the way. Just not feeling the love at the moment... can't actually remember a lot of my TST rounds these last couple of weeks... says a lot about my current approach!

Ok after a practice round Friday and another last night I said “no friggin way I’m I playing this event”. Now reading this thread I’m slightly intrigued knowing most of you thundercocks are having some issues too.
Particularly telling of why I should not play this. Last night practice round I had things going well. Was playing not to bogie instead of grip and rip like usual. Managed to go -5 after 9. And this was on the high wind setup from the weather forecast. So lost my mojo a little starting on 10 and parred 4 in a row. Then on 15 fast downswing put me in a bunker. Misjudged the out and left me just off the fringe with the green sloping severely downhill. I think I was 16yds to the pin. Anyway I tried a fully lofted partial swing flop. Except that was a VF/F and ended up in the rough on the other side of the green. Chip was short leaving 8ft. My putt missed because the line looked similar to a candy cane. Triple bogie. Now, pissed i par bogied par for a whopping -1.
If I did play for real, my controllers and my blood pressure would be flying high guaranteed. I’m just not even keeled or cool enough for a course like this. Especially if the fast downswing phenomenon gets started.

Very intrigued by the results this week, as csugolfer60 mentioned I designed the original layout and he took it to the next level with his artistic touch. Lots of good challenge to be had out there, and it is kind of nice to see scoring in relation to par being reigned in a little bit. I would love to see some streamed rounds if anyone has been putting them on twitch/youtube. Best feedback a designer can get is watching others play the course. All comments welcomed and encouraged. Good luck this week at The Conservatory Club.

Made the cut (I think), so that's a nice change from last week.
Honestly got no breaks in round 2, and found a few pin locations a bit harsh. I've read Dario say these pins all have "smart" plays or ways to work the ball on approach towards a spot on the green which provides an easier 2-putt vs going straight at the pin (not his exact words, my interpretation of them), which I believe is true in a lot of instances and appreciate the design thought that went into it...but, in my humblest of opinions, there were at least a few in only pinset 2 that were atop a domed ridgeline, or position on some other high-point, which I could not determine the "proper" play without leaving either a 30+ft putt and/or a putt which had to travel up/down towards the hole with an elevation measured in feet.
All that said - which isn't meant as condemnation, so please don't take it as such - I enjoyed the grind in round 2 more than I thought I would, despite my mediocre scoring. Had a number of really good up-and-downs, just didn't catch some of the breaks I needed on a few shots here and there to give realistic looks at birdie (including 2 that somehow hung ontop of red/yellow slopes, leaving a putt which was impossible to keep on the green).
Final 2 rounds will undoubtedly be a grind, as well, so I'll be taking a good breather before hopping into those.

A Sayonara and a Good-bye... and it's only Tuesday In other news I pulled my head out of my arse and shot -9 R2 so should make the cut. I didn't do so well in R3 and R4, burning many, many edges... R3 I hit some great shots and got a little unlucky with the putter. R4 the swing went wonky. Still, great track. I really enjoyed the challenge. Would love to play it again in a pressure scenario of a Major or the Matchplay.

I agree fadge this course had world matchplay all over it in my eyes. Risk reward and putting has to be on point to make a good number. Got sneaky feeling its gonna be bandit ridge tho. That is also a great matchplay course.

Hey chaps.
Watching some Golf on the telly box last week so thought I'd give this one a whirl. It went pretty well for 18 holes and was all downhill from there. Think I left it having just hit 3 balls into the water (not deliberately, just to be clear) @ 11 in Round 4 so I probably won't finish.
May make a proper return for the Players next week (ie actually putting some effort in), see if I can scam my way into the Matchplay/Masters.
Hope everyone is well anyway. Browsing the forums I see course complaining, people insisting the game is unplayable & API drama so I assume it's all going as swimmingly as it always did

Decided to go ahead and play after saying above I shouldn’t. First round went surprisingly well. I played calm, I took the time to think through my shots, and ended up with a one bogie -11.
Unfortunately all that concentration in rd1 tired my little pea brain out. But forged ahead with rd 2. I think I birdied the last two to get -4. So guessing that’s a cut made.
I went ahead and played the last two rounds. I really just wanted to get this one done as it seemed a bit of a chore. but really wasn’t equipped to concentrate or care too much. Both rounds were under par but very barely.
Saw some real scores on the PS4 leaderboard. Kudos to you guys that shot double digits under in the last 2.
Looking forward to Sawgrass

Been a while since my last post, haven't felt worth since I have been missing cut after cut. Had to do some soul searching and hit the driving range. I knew darn well that my woes were all on me. I was struggling with tempo, and struggling to hit the damn ball straight. If I managed to get the tempo down my direction was all over and vice versa. Put the work in and found that a HUGE part of my problems resulted from just not being relaxed, focus and attempts at precision were lacking. Felt like I was getting things back together in my practice rounds and was feeling confident. Sure enough the heart started beating a bit faster (one of the kind of cool things about playing in TGCT events) and I was a bit jerky at the start scoring silly bogeys on 2 and 7, two of the easier birdies on the course playing even through 7. I was irked and frankly embarrassed figuring here we go again. Happy to say I started feeling it a bit. Calmer and focused and trying to avoid another week of total calamity I birdied 8 and 9 and went on to score a (for me) pretty nice 28 (-7) on the back still feeling like I left a couple out there. Maybe I can start scoring again at least respectably in this PGA tour. I'm just going to sit and enjoy this one for a bit, first time in quite a while that I have an opportunity to be playing on the weekend if I can hold it together. Thanks to some of the guys for the tips and support. I enjoy the hell out of this game and TGCT is many of the reasons why. Hit them well!!

Considering I have not made a cut since joining the PGA, it is to say the least that after viewing the thread I am a bit scared to even start my rounds (Could I make it a 0/3 made cuts for my PGA debut??)

Have you considered that having an upside-down leaderboard creates opportunity for "the little guy" - in your case you? If we had any old course, chances are you'd probably miss the cut. However, with all the turmoil, if you happen to play okay, you might actually make it to the weekend.

Realistically I haven't been playing as much recently due to real life events so my tempo has been off, If I can somehow get it on I may be able to at least make the cut

The course is very scoreable then. R2 just hold on for dear life. I would say if you can get to double digits under par you may make it. Will have a better idea after tonight’s update.
