What's everyone's thoughts on "terrain matching?" Angle it up to match? Extend it outward and then hide the ride edge with trees? Use GE to locate several points of true elevation and bring the surrounding up that way?

I recommend filling the area with the RED terrain lower brush as best you can, then mush around and blend it by hand with RED still. The lidar uses blue, so you cant' mess up the lidar at all as long as you stick to RED.
If you're feeling lazy and have extra resources, there's a box called "Add Background Terrain/Remove Cliffs". This will generate a background for the whole area of your original selection but use a lot less resources than not masking at all. Helps if you want to trade a few % of resource bar but suck at sculpting.
I'm sure everyone else who can actually sculpt have suggestions as well.
