As Nicklaus said, sometimes you have to learn to fix your swing mid round. Tough to do though with tempo spitting out any old thing. What bothered me this time was that some of the ghosts I looked at in R1 were getting very friendly low winds while I was getting 13 mph right up the face. Superb!! Wondered why scoring was so low for some...

Certainly seems like a bug. I just had a look at what wind my ghost was getting in R1 and it's nothing like what I experienced while actually playing the round. Seems like watching ghosts is a complete waste of time and not something I would ordinarily do anyway. Ohheycat, your wind was only clocking 3 or 4 mph when I looked at your R1 last night. Now your first hole is coming up at 16 mph. Weird..

Yeah, think so but I'm talking about how little the wind bubble was filling up for some of the ghosts I looked at. Anyway, just seems bugged I think.

Haven’t played my rounds yet. I would say I’m going to skip this event. But I’m like the fat girl that can’t keep her hand out of the box of chocolates. Some here complaining about tempo on this one. I’ve played two practice rounds, one Saturday night, one Sunday. -5 and -6. But, something odd going on. I’m getting fast downswings at least 50% of the time. Had 4 in a row in my Sunday practice round. Exited, went to magnolia, 5 perfect downswings in a row. Then went to Pebble..3 perfect downswings. Went back to this course, 2 fast downswings straight away. So I quit and started a new round for practice and was screwing around so much with my swing to try not to hit fast that more swings than not we’re way out of cone. Is the strangeness with the tempo server side, or too many objects in design? I just don’t know anymore. But I better use my oldest most tattered controller (I have one literally being held together with duct tape around the handles) when I play this one. The fast downswing problems infuriate me like nobody’s business when the round counts. Sumpins gettin broke ... Have to say, I had those issues in full effect in R1 and R2. I'm very fortunate to be able to manipulate tempo to my advantage in most instances, and rarely miss (the rest of my calculation leaves something to be desired!). Quite what was / is going on I really don't know, but I played TST on the same course straight after my R1/2 abomination and I missed 1 fast in 2 rounds (it came out perfect so I ended up shy and right of my target). The rest were exactly as I planned. I played R3 in TST, and I really struggled to get fasts. I had to adjust half way through and just play PP and the loft box game, but by then I'd lost a bit of momentum. It's weird how this week my tempo has come and gone like that, as usually, I'm lucky enough to have few issues. I envy you that you know how to play for the fast downswings. I mean I know the ball goes a little further and left of target (for right handed golfer) but I’ve never really tried to calculate the effect on all woods, hybrids and irons. Mostly when I purposely play for a fast downswing it’s a drive that I need extra distance on and I purposely push right of the cone while swinging hard. But I bet it ticks you off if you are playing for the fast downswing and it registers perfect. I’m sure that would be the story of my life if I were to try it.

The wind meter when watching ghosts hit is not accurate, their ball flight should be accurate though. I realized that when I tried to play true sim on turn based
It is kind of annoying that if I play a practice round and set the wind to default I get like 6mph and then when I play the tournament and it is set on default I get like13 mph. I would rather the tours just always picked none, low, medium, high, or very high and didn't use the default setting. But as others have said everyone is getting the same course, so in the end it is not unfair

The value of a ‘default’ wind is it’s magnitude can vary greatly across a round (wide range), whereas the other settings have a narrow range of potential values

I haven’t played much since last tourney. Didn’t know what to expect. I struggled in R1 & R2 on the front 9. I think I was -3,-1 respectively at the turn. Both rounds I came back to finish -10,-10. On to round 3 finally made a score of -6 on the front only to fizzle on the back with a few missed putts for another -10. R4 was just a sold round of -12. Total -42. I only had two off tempo shots all tourney. My biggest problem was judging the wind, I was a bit off and had to putt my ass off on a majority of holes. Only 1 eagle. Good course and good luck!

Brought my Z game this week: it was actually pathetic My approaches were way off, my swing line all over the place and my putting was farcical. I was literally lost on these greens - it'll be interesting to see how many putts that I took this week, probably a new record. 🏆

As much as Iike this course it has been unkind to me all week, here and TST. I have to take responsibility here though, as after a catastrophic brain fart on the par 3 5th in rd1, culminating in a 10 (Yes TEN, u read it correctly) to put me +5 i knew any chance of potentially making the cut had flown away with the wind. But i'm proud to say, I didn't quit, down to the sheer reason being, of fair play and sportsmanship, as Magnus Magnasson said "I've Started So I'll Finish" and i did. -3 + -5 for -8 fadgewacker u got me this week Well played all and good luck to those yet to start/finish

The rivals sheet makes poor reading for us both this week in the overall picture however
