Heads up!! I didn't use putter on my first shot of my first round. Every shot after that was using a putter. Feel free to check ghosts. Please penalize a few strokes as I definitely messed that up and didn't read this. Sorry all!! Gl everyone. fun course. Yeah... I did not see/read this either. Apologies folks.

Quick poll everyone... How do you think is the most fair option to handle week 8 action? 1. Allow the people who have come forward about flopping or chipping to play the rounds again in local play and send me the scorecards? 2. Just leave it as is because there probably isn't too much advantage on most holes over the people that putted every tee shot? 3. Cancel this week and don't count the scores, then run this course again a different time? Please notice there is no longer an option to disqualify anybody because I feel like this is a mutual misunderstanding and I should've been communicating this a few weeks in advance. I did try to let people know here on the forums, but not everybody gets to those in time, and although I've never been to a mini golf course where you use a lob wedge off the tee, it was probably too much of an assumption on my part that people would change to putter when the game automatically gives them a wedge on some holes. What is the general feeling here based on the options I've given? Im happy to accept any decision or fallout that comes from this. This is a fun society and with my (lack of )skill level (at times) winning is not my main priority.

Split between 1 and 2. I don't think there was really anything to be gained by not hitting putter on any given hole, each hole had at least one line that would get you close.

What console? Hopefully it wasn’t me and we can #BlameMayo As for the poll ... Option 3. If speed weren't same across platforms, on top of the chip/flop thing, I just say call this week a wash and go from there. We'll learn from this and move forward.

Very nice mini golf set-up, well done to the designer. On PS4 both rd's were at the default speed (173). First rd and I managed to get the lines and speeds right to have a 43 (-11) that should have been 3/4 better with some misses under 8 ft. Unfortunately in the 2nd rd my lines and speeds were just a little off, ended up catching a lot of rough and managed to throw a couple of bogeys and a double in there for a 51 (-3). Yet another week with no DAM glory and no dead squirrels either. Can't wait to see what's on offer next week. As far as the poll goes I vote 2 (leave it as it is) but no big deal either way; DAM is just for fun anyway, right !

1st round score was 4. Looking to try and double that in round 2.
Onward!

What is the general feeling here based on the options I've given? Given the laid back nature of your society and that this is all in good fun, I'd go with option 2. The administrative work for option 1 seems tedious. Plus you introduce the "he played multiple times" complaint. Just my $0.02

I vote for whichever option involves the least amount of complication and hassle for those running the society.

I don't think this group we take offense to whatever you decide. I sure won't. That being said, #LetGdogWin

I doubt many people would have seen or played this course if Gdog had not played it on his stream. #LetGdogWin.

After giving this some thought over the weekend, we have decided to let week 8 results stand. It does not appears that the few who had some flop shots or pitches from the tee gained any advantage over the people who hit the correct putting lines, and in fact, some might argue that there was a better chance of getting it close by putting than by using a wedge. In our opinion, this is the best mini-golf course in the game, and we were really looking forward to using it in our society, so we aren't prepared to wipe the slate clean and do away with this event. Now, with that said, a word of mutual agreement for the future... I have never been to a mini golf course in my life where you have the option to hit a flop shot off the tee, so in the spirit of the game, when we use a mini golf course as an event in the DAM society, please just assume that you MUST putt your tee shots. When we select those type of courses for our schedule, that is definitely the intention for the tournament. Thanks! Week 8 results will be posted in the next 24 hours, and week 9 is open! Enjoy a new pitch and putt course designed for us by jacobkessler!

While you're all enjoying the great pitch and putt provided to us this week by one of our DAM society participants and also waiting for the website update with updated points, we wanted to announce conditions for next week because it is a Championship event for the society!
The event will be 3 rounds, with some challenging conditions, so make sure you leave time for that kind of thing if you're "taking it seriously," (as if any of us really are, haha). The purse payout will be higher because the entry fee is 250 coins and we will also include a 2000 coin bonus purse. Again, not a big deal, but we're trying to pay out coins based on your good play if possible.
Here are the conditions you will get, so practice if you wish!
Course: Ardoilean
Condition settings for round 1: Wind Speed: Medium Wind Direction: North Time of Day: Morning Weather: Clear Green Speed: Default Green Firmness: Default Terrain Firmness: Default
Condition settings for round 2: Wind Speed: Low Wind Direction: South Time of Day: Afternoon Weather: Overcast Green Speed: Fast Green Firmness: Moderate Terrain Firmness: Moderate
Condition settings for round 3: Wind Speed: High Wind Direction: West Time of Day: Default Weather: Default Green Speed: Very Fast Green Firmness: Firm Terrain Firmness: Very Firm

Here are the cross-platform Top 10 results from week 8, The Flatstick Open at Walton Mini Golf by gacraig . As we've promoted all week, this is probably the best mini golf course we've ever seen in this game and we're glad that Craig was cool with us putting it on display. We're headed to another short course this week with the Indian Run Pitch & Putt DAM by jacobkessler , so dial it in and see if you can make some aces! Cross-platform Top-15 standings have been updated on our companion website. We've had to limit the platform leaderboards to a top-15 format due to weekly time commitment because we now have 98 people who have played at least one week in the Dirty Ankle Mafia society, and many people who catch most of the events. Rest assured, we still have all of the data on (what is becoming) a huge spreadsheet, but we'll just be populating the top 15 to the website each week. Week 8, Flatstick Open, Top 10*
1. Gdog | -27 | 1. TheDominator273 | -27 | 1. stallion860 | -27 | 4. VctryLnSprts | -24 | 4. Sindrerev | -24 | 6. cephyn | -23 | 6. Doyley | -23 | 6. ohheycat | -23 | 6. gacraig | -23 | 10. grayson103105 | -20 | 10. Daryl_71 | -20 | 10. OldSkool_Stomper | -20 |
*We did not penalize anybody who either accidentally used flops and pitches from the tees, or did it intentionally, because we didn't lay those ground-rules out appropriately ahead of time. Results from in-game leaderboards were accepted.
