Well I have been playing this game since the tours started and have heard every excuse/reason to shoot bad. Today, I will give you one more...'lawnmower hands'. I went out and mowed my lawn because rain was moving in and after I finished, immediately, I came to play my first round. The vibration of holding the lawnmower handle destroyed my touch. (snickers)
I will bet my P\P swings for the 18 was no more than 5 swings. It was either a slow backswing or fast downswing. I even stopped and exited the game after nine holes, ate lunch and got back to it and it was the same slow or fast swing. I will stop now as my opponent this week, Leon, is probably laughing at me.
Oh the score was -5 and I had to birdie 3 of the last 4 to get that. Got a long way to go to catch Leon this week, but since my grass is cut, I can do it. Oh and by the way I am only 'partially serious' about the 'lawnmower hands', but this was the worst case of tempo I have ever had.
Avery he was 'old as dirt' when I watched him. He is dead now. I believe he was one of Tom Watson's main teachers. Tom is another great golfer and great teacher.
Yes I am familiar with Tom Watson, great golfer on the Champions Tour. But wow just watched a video of Penick, seems oddly familiar. They will have really old throwback instructional videos on the Golf Channel that I sometimes watch and I believe they had him on there.
1st was 65 (-7) and 2nd 69 (-3).. not sure how guys are going as low as they are this week. Course doesn't fit my eye, drives, approach, or putts. Good win Ashton. Probably taking first red mark this week.
