First, I want to welcome all the new webbers to the tour, I hope you enjoy your time here. Second, I want to apologize to all the new webbers, you picked a bad week to join the pro ranks, why I hear you ask? Well, let me tell you a story.
The designer of this course staypuft39 is someone I have dealt with a few times over the past few years. I always found him to be polite, friendly and easy to deal with so I had no hesitation in asking to use Silverback for the web. We went through the usual process of getting a course ready for tour without a problem. I then told Matt that because the course is tough enough as is, I am just going to usetamer conditions. He let out a laugh and said, we are going to use the toughest settings possible. I told home, that while I appreciate his feedback, that I am in control of conditions and settings and that’s final. He stared at me malevolently and told me that if I did not use a tough set up, he would release a video of me on utube. I thought of all the videos of me, the one of me frolicking through a field with puppies, the one of me helping 20 old ladies across the road, or maybe that other video. I could not take the chance.
I asked him why he was doing this to me, that I always used his courses on the web. He replied that I should have used one of his courses sooner, that he was God’s gift to course design and to make him wait this far into the season to use his course was unforgivable. That I used courses by amateurs like theclv and joethegolfer before using his was unacceptable. The greatest designer of all time should never have to wait and because of that, he was going to have my job once the admin play this week.
And that is the honest to god, true, not a word of a lie story of why this week is on of the hardest weeks ever on the web.com. All complaints should be sent to the new web.com scheduler who will be announced after the admins play on Thursday. Good luck everyone, your going to need it.
