The tourney is technically filed under the PGA tour so I put the spoiler thread here.
Good luck all!

Thought I'd give this a go, although happy playing with Pro clubs in CC-A. Dusted down the Masters and went -4 after the first 4 holes. Then the lovely buggy Xbox swing kicked in. 3 doubles later and I scraped an E for Round 1. Next 3 weren't too bad. -9, -4, -6 to finish -19. Not a clue what'll happen with that, or if I'll be stuck in the purgatory that is the CC-A part of the forums

Managed -30 through 2. Make sure you do a little bit worse so you don't end up on the pga

The point I'm trying to make is that despite being -30 through 2, I am mediocre on the pga, likely will not get a win at all this season, and landing short of the pga is probably better for most.

I'm in a real dilemma on this one. I've spent 3 months banging my head against a wall in CC-C using Masters clubs, made the switch to Pro clubs last week and hey presto, I had a competitive tournament! Still playing Masters in my other societies and to be fair I've been a little more consistent with them recently, but there's always that disastrous VF downswing around the corner and you can usually bet your house it'll be with water down the left.
So do I play this with Masters and try to get one of the 70-odd pro tour spots that are available, or do I go with Pro and try to go up a CC rank or two? You know for a fact that missing Web by just one shot with Masters will mean going nowhere, because all those CC spots above me will be taken by the Pro club users on the leaderboard. Game time decision I think...
Good luck to all, and commiserations to the 5 who accidentally shoot too well and end up on PGA!

Mediocre on the PGA is still a mile ahead of most of us even on the Euro and miles ahead of others still. I played a couple rounds here, managed a -14 and a -5 in the same conditions. With most links courses it all depends on the bounces you get. First round I missed one fairway, second round missed about 1/2 of them. Just all about the bounces. I can hit a p/f fairly decently but the swing is just a different beast.

I noticed with a lot of those hazard placements you're better off in the rough with a wedge than laying back. I was f/f not caring if I found fairway or not, and I missed ALOT. not that the scores shows it<my point> Anyway my opinion, this course is going to play hard for most people, and for all wrong reasons. Hoping for a lucky bounce in your 10 yard wide landing area with all these crazy hills. A promotional event shouldn't be a lottery. Course is pretty good, but for God's sake open up those landing areas just a wee bit!

I echo this ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I can't do F/F very well at all and I hit F/P or P/P with my drives with good consistency..... and when landing in fairway, I was seldom still on it. It bounced in bunkers or rough most of the time. There just doesn't seem to be any safe place to land off the drive. I am a CC-E player and I was -7 for my 4 rounds..... I was happy with how I played considering how much trouble I was in off the tees. I expected the green to be faster than they were. That helped me considerably with making pars. Over all, not bad for a CC-E lifer! Ha!

I pretty much agree. I wish they would have picked a course where properly working the ball right/left or playing the slope of the green gets you close. There are some holes like that but so many are crap shoots as to whether you get into the fairway or not.

CC-G player finished with rounds of -3, -1, -2, +1 to finish -5.... double bogey on 16th after getting caught in rocks thwarted my under pars on the last round. So there’s a non-professional score for other amateurs to mow down.
(Normally I am mid table on G... after promoting from CC-Z last promo tournament where I was mid-table too there in Z 😀)

Good luck to all, and commiserations to the 5 who accidentally shoot too well and end up on PGA! In CC-C as well and same dilemma; I decided on Masters. Lucky bounces play a big role on this course, certainly, but not for me... I am just not good enough (yet) with Masters. Shot -3, -1, +3, -4 for a Total of -5. Back to CC-C! ;-) Best wishes, Frans

Well I was hoping to promote out of CC-B in this event and land on Web. Not sure what it will take but I have a feeling I will fall just short.
Round 1: -7 Round 2: -12 Round 3: -3 Round 4: - 9 Total: -31
Let’s see where that gets me by the end of the week!

I've just matched your first round thanks to an eagle birdie finish. Went with the Masters in the end, what can go wrong eh?
