This course most readily falls into the "Inspired by" RCR category. It is a replication of routing, setting, relative elevation, green shapes, and most holes general layout from River Islands Golf Course in Kodak, TN. It's been a few years since I played the course, so much of this is based off of memory, with a decided slant towards TGC19 gameplay. That said, plenty of custom elements went into this that are not identical to the real course - notably, green sculpting and many additional bunkers, in addition to a slight skewing of the hole-by-hole spacing that was needed to fit all 18 on the plot.
Playability - Greens are set to a default speed of 184 with normal firmness. However, for the full challenge, the course should play "legal" at max speed and firmness, so feel free to give that a try if you dare - total yardage is under 7k, after all. The challenge here will be the greens, save a few tee shots, so feel free to tweak playability settings to fit your level.
Last but not least, I need to give a big thank you to VctryLnSprts for his planting assist. He pointed out a few things that were eye opening, and re-worked a number of areas that ended up making a marked improvement over what they were beforehand. So thanks, Eric, your help was great appreciated!

Wow. Great track Justin! Challenging layout and quick greens. Two highlights from my round. Thanks for making this course 🤙🏽

@b.Smooth13 do you live near this? From what I hear the course is a shadow of its former self now. It's been auctioned a couple times I think, and I read some reviews a few months ago that it was in pretty bad shape.

It's been auctioned a couple times I think, and I read some reviews a few months ago that it was in pretty bad shape. I'm in Knox, so about a 30-45 min drive. I know probably more than my fair share about the course's backstory, and yes, it's been going downhill for some time. The long version of the story involves a banker from Boston, an affair with a secretary, a transparent attempt to auction off the land in a ridiculous way to benefit a potential real-estate development that failed, and now the waste of the most unique layout in this area. Honestly, it's a damn shame, but the ownership/management of the place has no one to blame but themselves.
I'd still go take them up on the $20 winter special, but it's not anywhere near as well maintained as it used to, or should, be (and be careful on those bridges, they were sketch when I was there a few years ago, can't imagine they've gotten any TLC since).
And thanks for the play PaKaLoLo77 , glad you enjoyed the course! --- EDIT: Holy hell those were great putts, especially that second one! WOW!

Great job on this one Justin, and enjoyed getting a play of the published version today. Yet another clean, nicely sculpted, challenging design in your library.

Stumbled across a few photos of the real course yesterday, thought it was worthwhile to post them in here to give an idea as to what it looks like irl:

Great job, Justin! I'm almost through my first round here, cruising along at +5. The greens have got me. They're not unfair and not illegal, they just have me completely baffled! Several 3-putts, mostly from misreads, have been the worst. I haven't misread the direction of so many breaks since I started playing no grids! Several missed 6-footers and a few burned edges have taken my score and trashed it. But I love the course! And the fact that the greens and pin placement (set #1) have addled my poor brain to this degree make me want to come back again and try and tame the beast. Wonderful design!

Thanks Jeff, really appreciate the kind words. The challenge on the greens was a conscious decision from the outset since it's so short (under 7k yds), and I completely understand how/why that would be frustrating for some players, so kudos to you for embracing that challenge. I try to make courses that are fun, engaging, but challenging all the same - when I playtest (which I do a lot), I like to have tough shots around the course and to have to think about the putts I'm leaving myself, otherwise it kind of loses my attention, if that makes sense. I think that's one of the reasons why my courses tend to come out on the more difficult side of the spectrum, and likely a main reason why there are certainly plenty who don't entirely enjoy them. Anyway, that's just a round-about way of explaining why I'm always really grateful when someone takes the time to type out a positive comment and let me know they enjoyed the course, so thank you very much for that.

Great job Justin. Played this for a second time on the RRCC this week and played this course far better than the Friday night showing we provided you. Very well done all the way through. Only managed to find my self in a few trouble spots (tempo) but in all this was one of my favorites that you have done recently. I wish I had the time and talent to pump out these courses like you do. I have spent the last few days on a single green complex.
