*translation - "but it is a dry heat"
Pretty much sums up playing where it is 45C in the shade. Lets see if I can take my last promotion mark and burn it to the ground.
Some really tough holes, including a par four with a second shot to a 60 foot elevated green. Any wind against you it will be a 3 shot par 4. A LOT of really long iron shots here.
GL all.

Tried a practice round with pro clubs to soften the blow , did not end well , I feel another missed cut is just hours away . Mainly due to the fact that I can’t swing straight therefore any crosswind takes me way off target . The only chance I have is if I really really take my time on the greens . Rip it up Eurostars 👍🏻

Wow... High winds into some very large and very firm greens that have apparently had molasses poured all over them. Nothing like barely hitting the green in a tail wind, having it roll out 68 feet from the pin and you are putting to get there on 119 speed greens. One of the back nine par 3s, you drill a 3 wood because anything less puts you into a bunker 30 feet below the green so you have no choice but go long and then are left a 50-60 foot putt up hill on super slow greens.
Seriously folks. If you are going to make super slow greens, you don't make them super firm. Is it because it is the Saudi open you think they make their greens out of sand and pour Oil on them and thus they are really black greens? They do have courses like this which are very firm but with the oil they are VERY slick. We are playing in the desert!

I guess we have to look on the positive side and say that it poses a different challenge than last week. Variety is the spice of life ! I’m going to start tonight once I stop shaking , I’m not looking forward to this

I just want to know how we’ve been playing in the Middle East and Jumeriah Club isn’t on the docket. Seriously. It oozes class. 5 stars. Check it out if you haven’t. This course is just over the top defensive in nature and quite frankly not enjoyable to play for me and that’s with default settings. Number 13 is a joke of a hole. There’s basically not much chance to hit the green let alone have a chance at birdie. Like Brighttail was saying, the combination of very firm and slow greens flat out doesn’t make sense, especially when most your shots are 5 iron - 2 woods into the wind. Pretty sure tournament greens gradually firm and speed up as the tournament progresses when there is no rain, if we’re trying to keep conditions realistic. Anyway, I might have set a speed golf record in this one. -23. Probably a made cut and nothing else. We’ll all be back to scoring again next week at Pebble. Good luck to all! You’re gonna need it.

I think I will need to play 8 rounds with no wind and beginner clubs to shoot 23 under

Haha all 4. I don’t have a PS4 Got the yips in round 3 hacking it around. There are places to score don’t get me wrong. I just really have issues with courses that are overly penal without having some charm about it. We also seem to be the only tour where “very” will be used to describe at least 2 elements of the course every round. Obviously it’s getting to me at this point lol.

Lol no doubt. Good luck to you. I’m sure you’ll do better than expected. Don’t forget to slam those putts in round 1 and 2!

No flicking and no razer here. I’ve only just recently figured out how to hit the blue line and I’m happy with that . Hitting the blue line for 4 rounds and having the patience to read putts on every hole is the issue . Thanks 👍🏻

They seriously went with the slow greens in more than one round?? I mean don't they care where they are playing? In the desert? Let me guess round 3/4 are VF/VF/187?

119 greens should be banned from the TGCTours.

Anyone who knows me on here will know that I detest slow ass greens so I pretty much speed golfed rounds 1 and 2 as I wasn't expecting to do well .... two -8 rounds later and I'll make the cut so on to rounds 3 and 4 .... here's hoping for quicker greens

Finished off with -8 -11 for a -35 total. Won't be good enough to win but might sneak a top 10 with that 👍
