Not sure how the accomplished it but they added artificial difficulty based on swing data. I think that is why so many struggled in TGC2 Apparently, tbe new swing types added to much troubleshooting to get right so they abandoned that code. Now what you do is what you get. This is all based on post in the HB forum.

My only gripe about the swing is I spent about 2- 3 months figuring it out and finally got consistency with only to be dq'd. I was just doing what others have done their whole career. Welcome to my club... Had to alter the swing that I always used since the TW games get most of the times a "full line" in the Hud... Practiced a lot, but in the process I actually started to swing straighter than before, much to the API dislike. So now when I play, I'm worryiing more about the "look" of my swing than actually trying to score well! Thank you HB for that swing data collection change that nobody requested!

There's no chance everybody else would but would be interesting just to get one player to change for even a week just to see if there game changes at all. I’ll try to go back to flicking as an experiment for a couple of weeks... probably get DQ’d again though I’ve got to be honest, I partly changed my swing to make certain I don’t get DQ’d, but I also partly changed it because I’m competing with others that I want to test myself fairly against, on TGCT and private games / leaderboards. That’s my own personal view. I get why Bob doesn’t want to change his swing he’s had for years and I don’t blame him or some others for the way it is, but I didn’t like using it knowing what a huge advantage it is, on off centre hits. Oddly, I’m not sure how advantaged I was, as I was pretty straight anyway, but as we all know, it’s fine margins in PGA. The odd few here and there make all the difference. Those with a lot of swing deviation are the most benefited by it. Those with little deviation run the risk with it. I know it’s not a level field with the 2019 swing, but I didn’t want to be on the privileged side, when faced with that choice. No spat with Bob or others that have long since swung this way. I think there are only a slack handful of players truly taking the piss with it, but a lot of people are being majorly advantaged by it. How it’s fixed, god knows. 🦞

Does anyone do this on the Xbox?
Honestly I still don't understand it . I tried a couple of times on the range to do what I thought was a flick and it didn't work out out to well.
End of the day I think most people play here to compete but not to win. There are only a few that win on a frequent basis. The majority of us have a dream of winning everytime we tee off but quickly realize that isn't going to happen. Then it's all about the competition with your rivals and or your ranking. I don't even look anymore. I bet I'm 50 something? Lol it never changes.
Point being most people around here don't care about the flick stick swing or the API testing. They just want to play some golf and have some fun. Which I question if some of these top players ever have any. Seems like work to me. But maybe it is fun idk 😁

I think most people that play on PGA will have a fair interest in making sure the game is played on as even a field as is possible. Just my opinion... I’d much rather be talking about the golf to be fair, but hey ho.
