First off, I love the course. Just a ho-hum week for me though as I couldn't keep my round 1 momentum going. That round 1 did come with a 4-putt on the 2nd hole and I have since found out that I could have chipped my first and second putt. Lol. -15 at the cut, and -27 for the tournament. Hopefully a cut made and a mid-pack finish.

I also love this course! It still gave me fits, but think it's a beauty. Some of the green slops can really help or hurt you if your tempo is off. I had some good and bad holes and hopefully make the cut and complete my removal of the 4 demotion marks I received in weeks 1&2. It's been a long run of not playing competitive golf, so to remove this final mark would feel like an accomplishment.
Rd 1 -6 Rd 2 -8
I hope -14 will make it across the line.

9 16 10 13 48 Fingers crossed. Good chance with that I think. I decided to play the event because the course is fun and ended up in the -45 pack. As usual the euro event is more fun than the pga!

Followed a promising start with a fairly lame -7 for R2. And this is why I’m unlikely to win events - cannot shoot lights out four rounds in a row - two per tournie is normally my quota!

Love the course. Nothing too noteworthy in my play though, a pair of -8's for -16 at the cut. I think it'll make the cut but nothing worth sharing other than I flopped twice on greens. I haven't had to do it even once in all the rounds I've played on this tour, and I had to do it twice within 10 minutes. Once was 110ft and uphill, the other time was under 100 but blatant putting line issues. Putt line issue was #2 same hole as OP, probably virtually the same spot. The green was funneling anything remotely pin high and center or left of center to the same spot and it was not puttable from down there. Putting line would have been [conservatively] 10ft+ into the rough behind the green.
Bit of a scheduling error on my part had me pretty well burnt out by the time I played my rounds. Outside society match play events all hit at once, poor scheduling on my part. Considering how burnt out I was the -16 could have been worse. It may have been a smarter move to wait to play my rounds but I always try to avoid playing my tgc rounds after work. Generally much better off on a weekend, but this weekend may have been the exception to that rule.
As someone pointed out this course is a lot more fun than the PGA. And next week at Scottsdale....straight up snooze fest. Makes me question all this effort I'm putting in to scrape together these promo marks haha

Sadly I think I'm hitting a wall where I'm quickly losing interest in the game. Just not having fun. Part of it I'm sure it poor play, just about every bounce that could go wrong did so in round one but in round two I eagled 3 of 4 par 5s with one that hit the pin and stopped a few inches from an albatross. So the shots are there but even with that shot I didn't feel the excitement of hitting a really good shot, nor did I feel awesome with the other 2 eagles, it was just ... meh. So we'll light another promotion mark on fire and set it ablaze and decide next week whether I need a couple weeks off or can dive back into it. I also think part of it is with the loss of Dave, that hit me harder than I thought it would. My playing partner and often times reason being up earlier than normal to play a game is gone and thus a good chunk of why I enjoyed this game so much is also gone. It comes down to "meh".

Finished off with a mediocre -8 for a -33 total ... middle of the pack finish again boring Next two weeks I have a feeling are boring. Valley is pretty straight forward, not a lot of difficulty off the drive, tho no light rough. Greens can get tricky with the contours and then we do Pebble beach....

Well, that was underwhelming! It is hard to get excited about very high winds, rock hard fairways and greens anymore, even on a course like Pebble. I'm sure Augusta will be tricked up with an even worse version than last year, all with maxed out everything all four rounds just so someone will only score -49 instead of -55.
