Some funky things about this course that I'm not liking. Much water which means a lot of weird places where you can get a ball drop should you find a hazard. I have had drops given to me on a single rock where i'm walking on water to hit it, I've had the ball under the water with no penalty given but when I try to hit it, it goes about 2 inches, THEN gives me a penalty and one where I went into the water and I was put on a mountain on the other side of the hole some 98 yards away with the green 68 feet below me. WTF?

So big question right off the bat. Hole #2 I find myself with this putt. From my overhead view, I'm seeing that the line of my putt to MAKE it, is to the left of where my marker is currently on the screen. This means it goes through the fringe. Thus my understanding of the rules is that I should be allowed to chip/flop from here. Would that be accurate Doyley? I'm asking because this green is one of those people will try to go for in two and if you miss the tier to the right it rolls off left behind that fringe and huge hill.

-12 Round 2 to be -21 at the cut .... Round 3 was a disaster too many pars and finished double bogey, bogey on 17 and 18 to hit a pathetic -4

First round was alright, hit the ball well again, putting wasn't great but it wasn't as bad as last week. Longest putt I made was a 12-foot par on 15, probably had 6 or 7 putts from 15-25 feet which slid by a few inches left or right of the hole and left me with 2-foot pars, missed them on both sides, feel like I should have made one at least. Finished up at -7.
Second round, I had a lob wedge pitch (57 yards, allegedly) at a pin 63 yards away and 3 feet below me, perfect/perfect, landed 5 yards long. Ball went over the edge of the hole, and I lipped out the 7 foot par. Slow downswing into the water on 2, really nowhere to drop, 2-putt for bogey. Terrible tee shots on the next 2 holes which I parred, then got back to even with a 10 foot eagle on 5. Birdied the next 2, then was like an inch from holing out for birdie from the bunker on 8. Landed my approach shot on 9 about 10 feet from the hole but just caught the hill and rolled down. 15 footer on 10 didn't break. Left myself with an eagle putt from over 60 feet on 11 but made birdie. Nearly got a hole in one off the hill on 12. Somehow left myself a 45 foot putt on 13. 20 foot birdie putt on 14 looked perfect then suddenly turned right just in front of the hole. Hit another hill on 15 and had a 57 foot putt. Missed a 12 foot birdie on 16. Did birdie the last 2 holes to get to -6 for the round, -13 after 2.
Last week I was the third worst putter in the tournament, this week was a little better but still not great. I hit like I'm in PGA and I putt like I'm in CC Am. Longest made putt in the first 2 rounds this week was 11.7 feet, last week I did have one from a little over 16 feet.

There was not a single thing I enjoyed about that course, or my rounds there. See you next week. 😲

Course management is key here. There has been more than one times I had a shot at #2 and laid up short because the is almost no room for error, be it a sloped second shot, wind going the wrong way and the landing area you need to hit is very narrow from 240+ yards out just to have a shot at an eagle. I'm not sure it is worth it when a lay up gives you a pretty good full wedge shot in With a bit of a backstop.

Reminder to check where it's dropping you! If you don't know, BUMPER OVER AND HIT THE SAME SHOT OVER AGAIN. I do not understand people that just take the default drop and get put with a 60 yard shot off a rock over water.
Also, if you get stuck in rocks, THERE IS AN UNPLAYABLE OPTION.
The number of times I see people complain in threads, not just here, about shot limiting cause they got stuck somewhere is too headache-inducingly stupid high. There is literally no excuse for that. The game gives you every drop option you could want but a lateral hazard drop.

A tremendous course where every shot is a challenge . Course management , lucky bounces , mis hit shots that go where no ball has gone before , flops that go 70 yds , drives that go 380 yds , this course has it all . The cirque de soleil of golf . I need a week off work to recover from the ordeal . But it was way better than 99% of courses that I have played in my short time on Euro tour . Congrats to all that tame this beast 👍🏻

Super challenging course - you either need to be devastatingly accurate, or course management your way round - I managed to use both strategies to reasonable effect on R1 to put up a decent -12. Plenty more work to come yet...

I'm just not playing very well at all. Rd 1 was a joke with numerous slow or very slow swings, 95% shots which annoyed me. I think I had a least 3 water hazards. My next goal is to actually make a cut 🤣
