I would like to add that I like Justin's idea as I thought try keep it simple. Then if it goes well we can build on it for future contests.

I may have miscalculated a bit when coming up with that format idea... instead of needing 10 points for one side to win, it should actually be 8.5 points to win. I will edit the post.
I think I chose 10 originally cause it was nice and even but with 4 points up for grabs each round, one side would only need 8.5 to take the majority.
So the only way a 5th round would be needed is if the final score was an 8-8 tie.
Does that make sense?

I like it Justin. Maybe a few tweaks hear or there and I think we may have our format.
The other thing is we may want to consider doing this during Weeks 11 & 12 rather than 10 & 11. The reason being we only have today and tomorrow to get everything sorted out before Week 10 starts on Sunday and I don't think we will have captains selections and everything ready before Sunday.

Just wanted to say, I use Pro clubs, and I'd prefer not to use Master clubs for my TGCT rounds. If enough pairings are possible to have pro vs pro, maybe that's a way to keep things even.

I don't care who uses what clubs, let's just play! We're going on a bear hunt 🐻

Yeah 11 and 12 would work also. You messaged me about possibly not sitting people out so I decided we could make the format even more simple and include everybody every round. It would go like this: round 1 (TGCT Wk11 Rd1).......... 3 teams of 2 from each team (fourball matches) - 3 points up for grabs round 2 (TGCT Wk11 Rd3).......... 3 teams of 2 from each team (fourball matches) - 3 points up for grabs round 3 (TGCT Wk12 Rd1).......... singles (matchplay) - 6 points up for grabs round 4 (TGCT Wk12 Rd3)........... singles (matchplay) - 6 points up for grabs Win - 1 point
Tie - 0.5 point
9.5 points needed to win.
Or if you guys would rather... we could even do 3 rounds of fourball and 1 of singles.

Here is my thoughts:
Rivalry Tournament Format
Admin Info
- Use any club set you want (master or pro). I’m not overly concerned with it given this is a friendly matchup and given we are doing this within the TGCT rounds and I don’t want to mess up those rounds for Pro or Master club guys
Scoring - Win = 1 point. Tie = .5 point. First team to 9.5 points Wins! - All scores will be pulled from TGCTours scorecards on the website - Four balls scores will use the lowest score from a player on each team counting as the team score - Singles match play will use your scorecard against your opponent to simulate the match
First round (TGCT Wk 11, Rd1) - Four Ball - 3 teams of 2 players against the opposing 3 teams of 2 players - Captains will select the teams and match ups - 3 points possible this round
Second round (TGCT Wk 11, Rd3) - Singles Match Play - All players will play a 1 on 1 match play against the opposing team - Captains will select the match ups - 6 points up for grabs
Third round (TGCT Wk 12, Rd1) - Four Ball - 3 teams of 2 players against the opposing 3 teams of 2 players - Captains will select the teams and match ups - 3 points possible this round
Fourth round (TGCT Wk 12, Rd3) - Singles Match Play - All players will play a 1 on 1 match play against the opposing team - Captains will select the match ups - 6 points up for grabs
This gives us one round of team play and one round of match play per week/course and keeps everybody playing throughout.

Ok I believe we have our format set. I will update the OP with that format information. Now we just have to work on getting the captains to select their pairings and then I need to get the Excel file going.

Looks good to me! Will it be a blind draw for match ups like the Ryder Cup? Or first week one Captain puts their pairings and singles up first and second week the other one does it? This will be fun!

Pat and I are messaging back and forth about how to do this but I'd like to see a live twitch stream of the selection process if possible. Basically Captain B picks a team for match 1 then Captain C picks a team for match 1. Then Captain C picks a team for match 2 and Captain B picks a team for match 2. The captains alternate who picks first for each match so it's fair and they each get a chance to see who the other one selects first. If we can't do it live on Twitch we will come up with a different method to just post in the forums.

winners should challenge the CC-D rivals next LOL Do they even have a rivalry group going on CC-D? I checked out CC-A, C and D for other groups and only saw the CC-C one that seemed established. CC-A is like a ghost town. There is like 1 guy who posts there and that's about it lol.

They don't seem to post much about it but they keep track of how they fare against each other every week.
