A huge thank you to all who have engaged in this project for these guys, as they did a fantastic job on this RCR/fictional combo.
Here is the Twitch video, now archived to YouTube, of the awesome stream they did on Thursday night with course architect Rob Collins.

Thank you to everyone who made time for our little shindig last night. Rob and Eric were incredibly gracious with their time to help us put it together. We got some great questions and I hope hearing the insights from a real-world architect gave everyone in this community the same thrill that it did for us.
I'll be updating the first two posts in this thread over the weekend with photos, hole descriptions, and a link to the archived launch video.
In the meantime, you don't have to take my word for it! The community has really embraced the course so far, and you don't want to miss out! Go play!

Caught the second half of the stream last night. Really enjoyed listening to Rob's insight and also his enjoyment in seeing the back nine. All the praise is well deserved, this is officially my favorite '19 course. Played a quick casual round on default settings at -5. Loved the shot options, and I never felt cheated or forced into a bad situation. Every bogey was because I made a bad shot or a bad decision. The design is top notch.

The course was tons of fun and the stream was extremely interesting. I especially loved how Rob was totally into the fictional nine and discussing the holes with the designers. Whereas Crazycanuck1985 's tutorials are the gold standard for how to use the designer to make your courses look (and play) great, anyone who is serious about designing courses in this game should check out the video for insights on the more "theoretical" aspects of design (angles and strategy, contours, etc.). Rob's insights on what it takes to design a real-life golf course was also very informative.

Would love to hear some detailed feedback from your plays.
What are your favorite greens or holes?
Did you feel that the back 9 meshed with the front?
Did you hate anything about the course?
There are definitely a few pins that are brutally hard to get to, but there are even more that have feeder slopes or are down in bowls where you can hole out from distance. All about attacking from the correct angles!

67 plays when I checked earlier today, ghost balls had a wiiiide range of scores too. I think pablo had the lowest from the black tees at -13 between PS4 and PC.

I love extremely sloped and contoured greens and have always planned on doing a course with them but have never been brave enough to actually release anything up until now fearing the usual backlash about too much red / yellow etc. I think a lot of those comments may quieten down a bit after people have played this course and can see how fun they can be when done well In regard to your questions there were one or two things that stuck out to me both good and bad (well not bad but....), however I will have a couple more playthroughs first to see if I notice or feel the same things again before actually commenting on them.

Watched the video on YouTube. Just an awesome course and awesome broadcast. Real credit to jwfickett and gamesdecent for bringing this course to virtual life. Also, many thanks to VctryLnSprts for hosting, and to Rob Collins for spending 3 hours with our community.

Incredibly thankful for the plays and feedback so far. We know there are so many great courses out there, and this RCR isn't necessarily a course with instant name recognition. But we've seen a lot of action in the first weekend and hope you guys continue to play it and revisit it time and again.
If you play it and stream it on twitch, please post the link in this thread. I've been watching and listening intently to every single one...nothing is more educational for a designer than seeing how others play and perceive your courses. We are learning from every single stream and will continue to improve our future designs by internalizing the feedback, both positive and critical.
I think it is safe to say that this is not the last original project you'll see from Brian and me. And we'll get cracking on the secret holes routing probably this week!

Finally had a chance to play the course a few days ago and it’s great to see such a cool course come to life in TGC. First off the greens are a blast. Goes to show that a set of great greens is really what makes a course. Love how on one hole the green is your friend, collecting and funnelling balls to pins and the next hole it’s spitting your ball off the sides or front. Endless possibilities for holes when the greens are designed with so much variety.
The overall fee of the course was really nice. Could see the resemblance to sweetens, it’s great that you introduced many of those quirky little details like the wood faced bunkers. The bunker work was a really good effort. Although I hope in future iterations of TGC there is potential to make bunkers look even more rugged. Given the tools I think you guys did about as good as you could have.
Strategically I think it’s a course that requires multiple plays as the pin location and wind will have a drastic effect on how each hole plays. It requires a bit of unpacking to understand it though. It’s not in your face which I love. It’s like St. Andrews in that sense. I would love to see it on Tour as it would shine best in multiple plays.
All in all a shining example of guys who are pushing the envelope and keeping the game fresh and exciting. Hats off. Look forward to the next one!
