The Wolf's Fang clubhouse The fairway for the 1st & 10th holes The par 3 2nd and 11th holes, I know it says the 3rd but the holes are being built 2 at a time then reordered. Right after Desert Wolf was published I began on my next course. Wolf's Fang Golf Club is a 9 hole course with 18 sets of tees and pins. I'm hoping this won't take as long as I'll only have 9 greens and fairways to design.

I forgot to add that the challenge designing this course is trying to make both holes in the same location feel different. On the 2nd the pins are on the left side of the green so no need to carry the bunker, but on the 11th they are on the right so the bunker comes into play. Another challenge is keeping the 2 pins on any given set away from each other to decrease the chance of the ball going into wrong hole.

Just to keep you all updated I've took a few pictures of my progress. Because of the layout of the course I had to build the 9th (18th) before moving on to the 4th (13th) This is the short par 4 9th (18th) holes, the 9th is a straight shot to the green and the 18th's green is blocked by the path and bunker. I have managed to hit the path and make the green, so could lead to interesting choices by players. The just laid 4th (13th) is a short 4th and longer 13th pair of par 5's, there is a steep slope on the green that will split the green and both sets of pins. I've really only got 3 holes to create, but will do a lot of planting and sculpting first to break up the process.

Everything looks great! I just hate the bunkers in Boreal. It's a great theme for any kind of course, but I'll probably never use it because of the bunker lips.

Thanks, yeah the lips on the bunkers don't look great in boreal. I only picked boreal because of the background, the course is based on a course in the Scottish highlands but the highland theme doesn't have the necessary trees for the look.

I just thought I'd share an idea I had for my tee boxes, using retaining walls, a signpost and some tee box objects. It's a preparation area for players before they tee off, unfortunately it won't be visible unless players scout about the course.

I've just got one more hole to lay then some sculpting and a good bit of retaining wall work. I left myself with a lot of planting to do because it's only 9 holes and there's a lot of untouched terrain. I'll probably take care of the immediate course planting first then fill in the background. The greens will need some gentle sculpting as I'm finding the putting quite easy.

I've been doing a bit more work on the course and now have all holes in the correct order. I originally wanted to try and keep the fairways and greens shadow free, but while trying to do so I found the planting quite sparse. There's still a lot of planting and playtesting to be carried out but I'm hoping that it should be ready in a week's time The main entrance The 13th hole with the 18th on the left side The par 4 14th The 15th hole with a stream cutting through the fairways.

The course will be getting a major revamp over the next few months to make it available for the tour. There will be 9 new holes added and the best tees and pins will be kept from the original course as well as creating a tour atmosphere.
