Hello all. Bought the game about 7 weeks ago and have been working on my first project for the past three weeks after watching a few Crazycanuck1985 videos. Still learning but enjoy the design addiction as much playing. Working on 2 projects right now. The first is Carroll Creek - Norman, which is a fictional course located in Norman, Oklahoma The second is a RCR of Rhodes Ranch Golf Club located in Las Vegas, NV. About two - three weeks out from publishing Carroll Creek. How to people put out betas then edit and re-release?

What people normally do is publish the beta with an abbreviated name for instance yours could be CCN beta. Then ask others to give you feedback on it, might be best just to directly ask people as sometimes no one will pick it up if it's just posted on the forum. One thing I suggest to all new designers is to turn every surface down as far as they go, as it gives you a blank canvas to work with.

Pleeeeease get rid of that tee area in pic three. No course would ever pay the cost to build four separate man-made, rectangle islands 20-ft high in a lake with four elaborate, arched stone bridges to them just to hit a blind uphill tee shot. Maybe make them all on one NATURAL looking island with one bridge to it.
And not a fan of three forced carries on the first three pics, make sure you don't get repetitive and have more tricks in your bag to work with. I would watch Canuck's critiques of the courses in the Rookie Design Contest that he's doing right now as a lot of the stuff he says applies to this course and is what I would call a "Course Design 201" to his 101 series.

In the designer page there's a published course option that stores all your published courses. I'm sure if you go into that then edit a course it will be duplicated in your unpublished courses. Then rename again and work on it again, you don't have to have a full course as a beta, which is good because then you don't have to rework a lot of the course.
