Opened up with a -11 and given the favorable conditions and course I didn't think another 61 would cut it.For me it's just about fighting for cuts as I just don't have the skill/nerves to compete for much higher but we grind it all out. Round 2 starts nice and -5 after 7 going to the par 5,8th.Sitting 36 yards away after 2 I proceed to f/f my flop 25 feet! long and left, rattled I hammer the birdie putt past and miss the comebacker for a wretched bogey .Comeback with a bird on 9 but a par on 10 has me still on -5 staring at another missed cut.-10 over the final 8 to end on -15 and -26 thru 2 rounds and hopefully enough to be able to play the weekend. Really enjoyed the course. Some nice risk/reward options, some challenging tee shots and able to play some slopes on the greens to get closer to the hole. Congrats to the -60's and -70's guys and best of luck to guys like me just sweating to make a cut up here.

After comfortably missing the cut last week didn't know how I'd do the first two rounds here, but I didn't play this weekend at all and felt good for it. A pair of 59's for -26 SHOULD get me my first made cut, so looking forward to play the business end of the tournament for first time.
The course is lovely to play, you can really make a low score on it ( hence the SHOULD ). Round 2 especially had a favourable wind for at least 3 of the 4 Par 5's, and with 2 short Par 4's, the top guys would be disappointed coming out with -6 on those 6 alone. A good few Par 4's with short approaches too. Can see someone going ridiculously low.

It’s almost to the point where they need a short swinging / straight shooting league and anyone who is willing can join.

See ya later boys. Finished up with a -14. Hit it tremendously. Been pulled. Knew it was coming too... called it to a few lads I chat with, but what do you do when you find a groove. Aim to the wrong side of the fairway and slap one? Short swing a few wonky ones? Nope, you continue to hit it as well as possible, if you've owt about you. Off to go see the API support network and share a video of me using my stock controller to hit good shots, as changing 3 controllers and having 3 swings since 2019 hit still seems to end up with me having issues. One thing I will not do is hamper myself by purposefully hitting it like a mongoloid. This was with the vast majority as full swings, by the way. Best of luck to you all playing by the book. See you next week maybe. As luck would have it I'm having my Pro replaced under warranty tonight, so I have a brand new controller to learn how to hit again... if that one gets pulled, it's the end for me You're chances of getting pulled again with a brand new DS4 are unfortunately exponential! Stiffer mechanism, less deviation, and harder to get a "completed" swing in the HUD I find! Good luck anyways. Pretty annoying to play when your main focus is not on playing and scoring well, but to try to "manufacture" an API pleasing swing with official equipment! I find myself being a lot less interested and playing less too!

6 people got fair played last week. 5 of 6 were using third-party controllers.
2 people so far this week. Fadge and a third-party controller user.
The Fair Play is so watered down right now that I don't think anyone should be talking about chances of being pulled being exponential.

Wait, I haven't played yet Jeff! lol Every swing that I take now, I'm freaking out when I don't see a full line in the HUD even when I hit the plastic at the end of my swing... Ending every round going will I will or not be flagged... HB really screwed us this time around and they know it!

Plenty of others at the top seem to be thus far. Fadge is just an exception - he’s very good at swinging. :/

Im guessing there were pretty high winds in round 1? Really surprising IMO to see a -10 in the top 50.

Serves me right for thinking I can get @!$#ing confident when 30 or so of the top 100 haven't teed off yet. And im getting confident in the PGA TOUR no less. @!$# it, here comes another missed cut.

Gotta say, I sort of agree with you on that one Jules. Tour is in a bit of strange place at the minute, and not for all the fantastic work the team here do either... It’s almost to the point where they need a short swinging / straight shooting league and anyone who is willing can join. The problem with the whole short swing scenario from my point of view is it’s not something I can control. My swing action now is exactly the same as it was in TGC1 and TGC2, now I’m TGC2019 this action occasionally results in this short swing phenomena, it’s not something I do deliberately, or consistently. Sometimes it helps me, aometimes it hinders me. But unless you can do it all the time, I don’t think you can bracket people who suffer the ability to short swing in the same league as straight shooters when admin have said short swinging is not a dq offence.
