This course is my entry for the Challenge Circuit Rookie Design Battle. ErixonStone Blunderbuss is a fictional par 72 course that was constructed in the wooded mountainous rocky terrain near a small resort town in Colorado. The course plays at 7,349 yards from the tips. There are a wide variety of holes that can be enjoyed by players of all skill levels. The course is designed with default green speeds of 173. With low winds the course plays relatively easy. With higher winds players could find themselves in a bit of trouble if not accurate off the tee. With the default lighting it makes a relaxing morning round. In tournament rounds small crowds come to watch the highly skilled players throw darts at these pins. During most of the year Blunderbuss is often played by rich hillbillies. Some of which were pleased to provide some comments following their rounds for our advertising team to use: "Let me tell ya somethin' here... I juss got done playin' the FusterCluck or whatever it's called... uh... to tell ya'll the trufe I ain't member much. Brought my own whiske--ooops, wasn't sposed to tell ya'll thats. Uh... Only lost somewheres between 6 and 37 balls in the woods out there. Hope ya'll don't mind muh brother Joe done threw up in one of them bushes ousside. I had one heck of a time playin' golfs here. I gives it 2 and a half thumbs up!" -Dale P
"The missus and I had a hoot out thar playin' the Bless'er butt golf course. She told me this might be the most purdiest place she'd ever whacked a ball. Ya'll don't have security cameras in the woods off the 6th, 12th, and 15th greens do ya?" -Glen W
"The course? Oh ya'll mean the one I juss played? What's it called again? Thunder bus? Well let me tell you 'bout that thunder dump I took after hole 4...The fellars behind us said it was the worst smell they'd ever smelt. Couldn't even stand up straight to hits my next shot." -Jebediah H
karma4u Hoping you could hook me up with some photos! I didn't have time to grab any.

The retaining walls around the lakes on holes are really well done. Easily my favorite feature. Every hole is very clean. The fairways are wide enough that they don't demand insane precision, but aren't crazy wide. Although most of the fairways are curl back and forth, there isn't much demand to shape shots. The greens are very large and make easy targets (although they seem to get slightly smaller as the round progresses).
This course isn't overly challenging in calm conditions (like the round I played). If you just want to grip it and rip it in a relaxing round, this course is great.

Playing a round here now. I feel like youre a genius in that i keep having these aha i see what you did there moments. Your pin 4 is pretty tough, but you've made sure there's a way to get it tight. I am currently -10 through 8, see if I can keep it going
Edit: ended at -17. This is a super solid course, and I think you've got a chance at the w

One question! When did you get so good in the designer? lol
Loved this course, beautiful created, such polish in the routing and the little details like the shadowy areas under the trees such a nice touch, beautiful retaining wall work as well
I loved the sculpting of the bunkers...
This contest and those judges have their work cut out, man there have been some beautiful tracks released and this is one of those in my opinion
Great work Justin, loved it

Love it. Nice tweak to 18 from beta. I agree with ohheycat - the way you've contoured certain greens to feed down to the hole is sublime. Great to see the finished article. Looking forward to your courses in future.

What a fine looking course. Very clean. Sculpted very well. Great sightlines on nearly every shot.
I'm a sucker for short par 4's so 6 was probably my favorite hole on the course.
If anything i think it might of played a bit too easy off the tees, but in saying that this will without a doubt make a great tour stop wherever it lands in cc.
Haven't played through every course in the contest yet but this one will go in as one of my favs to win it.
Great course and great job.

Played this on the Friday night alt+shot and this course was a great looking track...rookie or not. So far we have played 4 or 5 of these courses over the last month and none of them have disappointed. Great job elevating the talent level of designers, and great job Patrick with this contest. IMO this should be in the final set of courses left when the dust settles.

Great looking course that plays well too, it seems Justin has learnt a good bit from the Survivor Contest. I liked the look of the 6th hole and the flyover on the 7th with the lighting giving it a great feel. The greens felt very smooth and short putts weren't tricked up. Only negative I found was some landing areas seemed flat, where I'd expect a bit of a slope.
But yeah a great course and all the best in the Rookie Contest.
