I dunno if Mark Longley is on the board but that guy has a flair for the dramatic. On the verge of demotion and sitting top 10 after 2 rounds. Good luck to everyone. This course was very kind to me this week (it helps that I actually learned how to swing and that the wonky wtf happened shots were to a minimum- I swear this game has a mind of it's own sometimes) I could be wrong, I've been around cyber golf for a bit, back in the day when it was only done on PC, but that name sounds like a grizzled vet such as moi. Only good. Congrats on your fine scoring. Let's hope the forthcoming patch is kind to all of us.

Dreadful tournament, hit water on every single round (multiple times on some). Greens were borderline unfair in places.
R1: 68 (-3) R2: 79(+8) R3: 67(-4) R4: 69(-2)
Total: -1
Once again, the CC-Pro crowd get a decent, fair course to test themselves against. Why not us in CC-Am?
Pff.
Anyway, to lighten the darkness of the golfing submariners among us, I did manage a lovely Hole in One on the 14th:

the CC-pro course was way harder than this on i think they do that so all of us AM players keep playing and dont have to shoot the + numbers on our rounds

Finished round 1, all systems firing at -12. Virtually guaranteed to be up 3 or 4 shots after round 2, right??
Wrong.
I was on a par brigade for the first eight holes of round 2 until an eagle on 9 got me going a bit. Just lost my feel for good putting. Clean round 2 but I expected far more than a -5. Tied for #1 at the turn with a -17.

I will agree that some of those pins were a little silly. Really tucked in there and angle of approach didn't really matter. There was one that was a square away from a yellow slope.
As I've fallen through the ranks, I don't notice a HUGE difference in the courses aside from firmness. I honestly expected courses in CC-AM to be easier but they are surprisingly tough.

The trend this year seems to be "Let's take a vaguely unfair course and see what settings we can change to make it sort-of playable".
Just give us the 187 firm greens and the bouncy fairways, FGS. No need to faff around with settings - give us the bare-bones and let the chips fall where they fall.

I don't notice a HUGE difference in the courses aside from firmness. I honestly expected courses in CC-AM to be easier but they are surprisingly tough. There aren't a lot of courses designed specifically for CC-Am. We're starting to get into the Rookie Contest courses starting next week, so things should ease up a bit.

Rd 3 was very chaotic. Guess that happens when you have distractions (phone calls, internet searches for where to have dinner, squirrels).
Outward - -4 with five birdies and a bogey #6, one of the easier holes so far in the event.
Inward - Very disappointing even score, especially with a closing bogey on 18, the easiest hole so far in the event.
Still, -11 thru 3 has me in decent standing. Solid final round and I should avoid getting any demo marks. Who knows? Might get lucky and have one taken away.
Onward!!
Rd 4 was a tale of two nines.
Front side started with a double on 2, leveled the card with birdies on 4 & 5, then bogey on 8 was followed by a nice bounce back birdie on 9. Even at the turn.
Back nine was a grind of 8 straight pars, a mixture of nice saves and missed opportunities. Birdie on 18 did provide a -1 round of 70, but boy oh boy I thought I was going to do better this week.
Not gonna complain about 4 under par rounds, first time this season. Now to follow that up with an even better event next week @ Pelion Marsh.
Onward!

Had a tough time on the greens, but I'm fairly happy with a -16. Looking forward to next week.
