How’s this for messing up your start to a promo event and then fighting back on the last six holes... 😂 Have now played rounds 2 and 3 of the promo event; no more bogies to report on... 😊 Not playing brilliant but very, very solid; afraid to start round 4 though because I’m more than likely going to ruin the good work so far - it’s what I do! 😂

LKeet6 Leon, I finished a practice round at Thistle and shot -4. I guess it was a routine masters round. Hit the par fives in two and two putt and drive a par 4 and two putt. I did hit one in the water at 18 and rehit from 226 and one putted to save par. It was a no bogey round and I even survived one VERY Slow swing and saved par on that one. I played a practice round at Great Northern with your ghost as I don't like to play alone. I had 2 birdies, one double and 15 pars. So far I am staying away from the 'killer holes'. My technique that I am using is calming my tempo. Baby steps!

Can't remember my practice rounds on that, was just getting to know the course... What do you regard the killer holes? My recollection is the back 9 is harder?

Okay, all four rounds of the promo event done: sitting at -35 wondering about what could have been without three stupid bogies in the last (windy) round...

LKeet6 We either tied or there was one stroke difference. It was #2 pin placement. I look at pin placements more that holes. I don't recall a hole that screamed 'monster hole', just a lot of tough ones.

I've got a feeling that might be a good score! Any info on the leaderboard in game? When I finished, I was third. Pretty good! Obviously a lot of people still to play. Where does a CC-C player need to finish to promote at least one? Can't be bothered to work it out I think there's something like 30-40 places above us?

Did you play with pro or master clubs Frans?

I used pro, Joe. My swing is too wobbly for Masters, especially with my putter. Then again, still messed up with the putter in the last round - I had a chance to go pretty low for a windy round but three bogies ruined that chance. I suspect -35 might be one or two shots short of a promotion spot but we’ll see.

Welp so much for the promo event. After a couple solid practice rounds I fired up the event and immediately went bogey, triple bogey. The only thing salvaging a -1 in the first round was an albatross on 18. I never fully recovered after that round and finished with a disappointing -17 overall for my first 4 round tournament with master clubs. The last round with high winds was my best at -7, go figure.

First round of the promo event done and shot -8. I was 6 under heading into the last hole and jagged an eagle. Quite happy with how I played and was bogey free.

Just missed the eagle on 18 in round 1. I doubt I’ll do anything special in the promo but I did not think I would anyway -6ish I think. Master clubs. Pro clubs are just too boring now. I might score better but not as much fun

Promo round one in and to no one's surprise an Even par 72. 3 birdies and 3 bogeys. The challenge is back, I think. I had a few tempo issues but, I think they were just bad swings. Still not making putts, and that is the difference between even and a -5 or -6.
I switched two clubs out before the round and wouldn't you know it, I needed those clubs 3-4 times.
