I've changed my mind, the rivalry can start next week... Bogied the first and last (again!) in round 3 for a disappointing but OKish 66 to sit -22. Then round 4 I don't know WTF happened. Completely lost all semblance of tempo on the front 9, scrambled for a few pars and then a triple at the 5th started the rot. +6 thru 8 !! Got a few back towards the end but a 73 and a -21 total will see me back in my usual spot of somewhere only just above the demotion strike line. This effing game is killing me!

I've been very quiet about my tour life so far this year. Ever since Q school I've been struggling... that being said, I think I'm getting it back! I'm starting to shoot more and more consistent rounds! Started out this week with some disappointing bogeys that led to a round 1 score of -5. Left a lot of shots right on the edge of the cup!
Anyways... what's the deal with this whole rivalry thing? I just noticed how many familiar names I see on this tour!

Basically I just came up with the idea of getting players who were roughly the same level on the first two tournaments and creating a bit of a rivalry. With the way that promotions work now there will be less moving from flight to flight. So I thought it would be a good idea to give players an added incentive of a rivalry, because when you're not near the top or bottom you've not got much to play for. TGC Tours mentioned at the start of the season that with less moving about players will get to know each other more. So it's just something to add a bit of banter and hopefully lead to the players getting better and ultimately getting promoted. You are welcome to join in with us if you think it would benefit you and have a bit of banter between players.

Good to hear just keep an eye out for me (Pat O'Dell), Sam (Simon Morris), giraffe 72 (Jamie Gale) and lessangster (Les Sangster) on the leaderboard. I think it's better to have rivals that you can interact with rather than just a name on the leaderboard. Let's all drive each other on and get some fun from being mediocre 😁.

So it looks as if we've got Denzil joining our little rivalry as well, so watch out for Steph Usher as well. I'm hoping we've got enough rivals here that everyone will have someone to target.
I'm wondering if we should have our own thread for this, and if we would like updates after the 2nd and last rounds?

I was wondering about Denzil but struggled to I.D. him before you enlightened me above. What's with the Turkish flag Steph? It's invalid & means you can't view your career stats!!! Anywhoo! Welcome to the CC-C Rivals & good luck. Pat: I vote we keep this thread going as I enjoy reading all the player tales from the tour mixed in with ours but if the others wanna break away I'm fine with that too.

So after checking the leaderboard after two rounds Jamie Gale is leading the rivalry on -16. Four shots behind is Justin Ciboch at -12, could he claw back the 4 shots in the last two rounds? Next is Pat O'Dell sitting at -10 who will be ready to pounce if Mr Ciboch's form drops. Sitting at -4 after two is Les Sangster who has admitted his tempo deserted him and may be looking to put this one behind him and push on next week.
We are waiting to see if both Simon Morris and Steph Usher can have an impact on the leaderboard. Both players have yet to tee off, maybe they are waiting to see how the leaderboard is shaping up before they launch their attack on the leaderboard. It will be an interesting second half to the tournament, all the best for the rest of the tournament guys.

I'm just about to tee off... I usually play rounds 1 & 2 back to back on a Wednesday & then finish off Saturday.

OK! Bogey free 6 under for round 1 & got 5 holes into round 2 before the 1st yellow highlighter spoiled my card. Evens through the front 9 & then went on a mini birdie spree teeing up the last on 5 under. Damn overkill cambered landing zone kicked me into the rough & my escape found the green entrance sandpit..... poor chip out left me to much work to do to save par & ended the round 4 under. So, tied with you Pat on -10.... miles behind Jamie but just 2 behind Justin.
