Scored -12, -5, -11, -8 for -36 for the week. That's my best showing in a long long time, and should surely be enough to get rid of my final demotion mark :-)
Very nice course by the way, thoroughly enjoyed it all four times.

I'm of the opinion that promo events were a terrible idea. Mee too. I think it is interesting that they got rid of the old system with sponsors' exemptions because they wanted (?) to have less player fluctuation in the flights, but then ruined that idea by shuffling the whole thing up through the promo events. I think (and responded accordingly in the survey) that the best idea would be to stick to the promo/demo marks system but reduce the number of necessary marks to move up or down. And more importantly: to omit the promo events.

Personally I liked the idea of it being so hard to get promoted...competing for the money list was fun for me. i had 4 promo marks and then my game collapsed - its a good thing i wasnt in cc-a! i'm where I belong - i should really have to PROVE I deserve to go up.

This might be true for you and me, but i feel as if there were nevertheless constantly people around us that are not where they belong in terms of skill level. On both sides of the leaderboard. For instance, last week, the top 6 scores were -53 (!), -48, -47, -45, -44, -43, and then the field became more condensed (if that's the correct term). It is clear to me that it is normal not to have that many ties on both ends of the leaderboard, but I wonder where those top players left their game in the tournaments preceding their performance boost.

-9 in round 2. Wow..it has been a real fight! With my swing never perfect, some green missed but with no absurd errors, three other putts from 2-3 meters missed, but to be honest, this time I have very little to complain about my putt cause i think has been all equalized by a pair of great downhill putts for birdie (one from 10 meters, one from 6-7 but from the fringe) and a pair of par saves not so automatic..so i'm quite happy, cause after all the only important thing in this round it was don't screw up everything, to give me a chance in the last two round to play for the win. I know is an ambitious plan, but with the season almost ended, I need to motivate me in some way..and this is the best target I could ever find, so..why not? Probably the third round will be the most important. Looking at the conditions, It will be almost surely some great score..i have already a gap of 2 strokes (at least, cause some guy has still to play the second, so maybe I'll need to recover more) from the lead..so everything worst than a -12 in third round probably will close the story. I'll try, for sure. We'll see. Good ends of the week and good golf to anyone

Checked the leader board, happy with my result so far.
Currently 14th overall, and 1st Xbox Master user.
Cleared my single demotion mark too, so a great week.
Now only if the rules allowed 1st place on each to go up....sigh lol

-12 in third round, -33 total. I tried..and I obtained probably almost the best I could. Just one stupid error on putt from a minimal distance, but also a great putt from long distance to "equalize", in some way..if only that putt from the fringe out for inches...but well. About the rest no more to say. 100% FIR..Three greens missed..my swing kicks slightly to the right sometimes, but nothing terrible...so I have no regrets, after all. I don't know how standings are, but the truth is that this time was needed something of absolutely extraordinary, to recover the six strokes I suffered from the lead after two round. I'll try to do my best in fourth round, in every case. This course deserves a good finish and, if I remember well, my best score on this tour is the last tournament's -41, 2 weeks ago, so I could try to improve it, just looking for something to motivate me. Well..anyway..Good week end to all.

-8 in my final round for a -41 total, 4th place at the moment. The three guys in front of me played a fantastic golf, scoring at least one round around -50s. Hats off for them. I don't played too bad, but the pin positions were really tough today and my swing was not so centered and, as result of these two things, this time I had been forced to play a good number of putts from 5-7 meters, that this time just caressed the cup, never dying in. Only the missed birdie on hole 1 was really avoidable. And the bogey (my first!) at the 71th hole..but when I was already sure it was over so I tried an impossible approach just for the show In conclusion, what can I say. First of all, stoneysooner you can be really proud of your work on this course. Is a gem. And you have also a nice (and really bastard, I would to say ) eye for the pin positions the main reason why these last two rounds has been a challenge never too easy, even playing with low wind (and the last two par 3s are a proof pretty clear of what I mean ). So I can only confirm that has been really a pleasure and an honor to play this course. I totally enjoyed every round played. Even those played for practice (and often is not the case...). I hope to play some other of your courses, at some point, in the next season. Thank you again. Then..well..i hope to play with/against all of you guys next week for the last time, this season. Good luck as always.

Final tournament of my very first season completed at the scenic Kraken's Revenge. Schedulers giving us a gentle finish to conclude. Been a thoroughly enjoyable experience getting involved with TGCT where I've managed to compete in every tournament (Including the Promo's), sampled the delights of CC-E, CC-D and CC-B, had a shot at Rangering and ran a Society in the RRCC.
Massive thanks to the Admin on here for all the hours they put in to provide us with such a fantastic platform.
Roll on Season 6.....

So, last week was my best performance of the season - finished inside the top 10 master club players, which would have meant a promotion mark if I didn’t already have a demotion mark against my name. It was nice to have a week where i felt like i had the tempo under control, and the low winds definitely helped - i’m useless at allowing for wind.
Lets see what the final week has to bring...

Finished 4th best Master user, 1st on Xbox.
Best week in a long while, and time putting in practise is paying off.
I feel Sundays are good for tempo, so have done all 4 rounds again, and another great week.
R1 -8 R2 -4 R2 -13 R4 -12
Overall -37, same as last week. Bit disappointed with first 2 rounds, definitely left lots out there.
Be interesting to see what the other master users do, only playing with them of course so always filtering the stats to see true rankings.
So that's my season done. I had hoped to be in web.com by now. I was two shots away in the last promotion event! After that week I got demoted from CC-A, and was in low place. Worked hard and feel like I'm playing at a good level now.
Roll on season 6, and I hope there's some changes, notably for us Xbox master users to aid promotions.

Here we are, the final tournament of season. I was so proud of leading the money list for so long, but I really fell apart in the last 25% of the schedule. Having to refocus my time on a new baby really killed the golf game! I really wanted to come out strong and finish the season with an absolute banger of a tournament, so I grabbed some coffee and looked to beat Kraken's Revenge.
The first rounds were strong at -11 and -9! Putting was pretty good (rare for me) and I was cruising. Hit a few bumps in round 3 and ended up with a -8, but I felt confident I understood this course.
Then came round 4, and disaster struck. Only one birdie through the opening 7. Stupidly got aggressive on the 2nd shot at the 8th and a bad bounce put me in the water. Missed the bogey putt and had to take a 7 on the hole and I was suddenly +1 on the round. Oh man did it hurt so much. I had 3 good rounds and now this mess. Clawed out 5 birdies on the back nine for a final score of -4 (67) but I just feel miserable with that round 4. Final tournament score, -32. I was really hoping to be pushing 40 under after the first 3 rounds.
Really disappointed with that...I easily think of 5 putts I missed that erasing that double bogey would have really put me on the leaderboard. Instead, its probably going to be a solid but unremarkable finish to my season. I don't think I can recapture the money lead now, and that hurts too. That was my goal this season and I came up short. We'll find out how short next sunday night!
Thanks for all the competition this season everyone! Hope to see you when we start back up in a few weeks!
PS if you find yourself bored and looking for rounds in the lull, please consider checking out one of the courses I've designed - they're listed in my sig. My latest is "The Course at Cycad Reach" and is my entry into the Dream Team contest, currently in the judging stage. Thank you!

Do promotion marks carry over to the new season? Asking for a friend..... No. We'll restart with clean sheets and no massive q-school.

Do promotion marks carry over to the new season? Asking for a friend..... No. We'll restart with clean sheets and no massive q-school. Has that been said anywhere? The clean sheets aspect, not bothered about q-school. I expect to have 4 promotion marks after this week. It is only penalising to remove those for the new season, especially where we commence the season in the flight we finished in.
