Well, R1 at Old Tom Morris -1, no wind and 50% GIR, not a good sign, the greens are tough!! (as in BS) R2 later.

I'm leaving CC-AM, just not competing, I'm going to try the solo season, I can set it up to be more competitive. This is not a goodbye, I'll see you around.

Don't give up John, if you are in CC-G you are good enough to compete with us, I just played round 2 and made another 5 birdies but my game was back to normal and I also made 5 bogeys, my short lived dreams of maybe fighting for a greenie next to my name shattered by my inconsistencies Play the solo game as well as playing here mate and if you go down to Z so what, Im sure there are some nice guys down there

yes dont give up i was in CC-a for years and i am here now. it is just for fun! find a couple of guys at your skill level and compete with them. i am getting better fast so i should move up quick how to be back in the CC-pro some time next year. i am probably a CC-D player now and this level a great place to start and with in 8 weeks or so the fields start to change around and the competition gets more evened out for where everyone should be. hang in there and play both remember it is just a game.

As others mentioned, this is all for the fun of it and you are your own competition at the end of the day (isn't that the case with Golf in general) Hope to see you on those leaderboards my friend!

echomike2, if you end up back on planet Z, remember our names were always pretty close on the boards! Yours is one of the first names I learned on the leaderboards, to compete with!

Do this: If a round or a tournament is bringing up that 'rage quit,' just play the whole course hitting punch shots. Once inside 100 yards, switch to 6-iron only pitches and chips. I promise it will bring a smile back to your face.

After just missing getting a green promotion mark in the last couple of tournaments by a stroke or two, I thought, I need to up my game a little, so I practiced the course, setup for the first round conditions a bit more than I usually would, after a few rounds I started to get a feel for it and I changed a couple of clubs in my bag for this course specifically, which I don't usually bother doing, any way I get to the stage where I'm practicing and making lots of birdies and an eagle here and there so It's time to start round one. I birdie five of the first six holes and am feeling pretty good at this stage as you can imagine, I come to hole seven and If I remember correctly the wind was about south west and I think it was 4mph, Ok 2 iron I cant remember having any problems here before in my practice rounds apart from maybe rolling a bit too far through the green on occasion. My first shot falls a bit short and it's in the water now they say that the definition of madness is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results, so I put my second shot straight into the water in the same spot so I'm a bit stunned now, I really thought a 2 Iron would be enough there against a little wind, I play with a mouse and both shots were P/P, so now I'm on my third Tee shot and looking at losing all my birdies I had in the bank, I adjust my aim to make sure I hit Terra Firma and get a fast or very fast downswing I cant quite remember because my brain seemed to be a bit scattered by then and it too finds H2O anyway this time at least I get to drop the ball somewhere other than the Tee and I eventually end up making a NINE, I walked onto hole seven at five under par and walked off at one over. Sorry for waffling on a bit but it's a bit quiet in here at times so I suppose it doesn't really matter and sometimes it's just nice to vent a little I don't really remember much about the rest of the round but hole seven was the only one I tripped up on and I made another five birdies for a four under par total. I love this game/sim but man can it kick you in the teeth at times, as for getting a greenie, I expect I will get one someday

Key to doing well this week is not hit the water!! Currently at +5 after 3 Rds and I reckon I’ve put 7 balls in the water so far! Update: What a crash -> E after 2 Rds, +15 after 4 Rds... lost my confidence big time!

I feel your pain Mart280. I haven't played this weeks event yet but I am familiar with that kicked in the teeth feeling you speak of.

Just played my last round and put my tee shot in the water on hole 7 again but this time I managed to get away with just a single bogey, man I'm glad to see the back of that hole that was the only bogey I had but was finding birdies hard to come by and was -1 at the turn, my luck also made a turn and I eagled two par 4's and made three birdies on the back nine which made up a little for my round one misadventures, I enjoyed this course, if you give it some thought you should be rewarded but beware because it can also bite you hard.

Through 2 rounds so far and find myself @ 6 under...not quite sure how I feel about it.
On one hand my swing and tempo have gotten so much better (and by that I mean more consistent/reliable) and for this I am grateful! Learning to use partial shots and loft to cover distances which means my improved distance control has improved my proximity to the hole which in turn means I should make more putts...all good things right??? Not really...lol. My swing seems to abandon me at the worst possible times and that leads to big blowup holes. The swing meter looks like I'm using an Etch-A-Sketch...
A couple of things I've learned through 4 weeks...my best scores come during rounds in higher winds (10-15mph+)...I'm not good at judging side hill lies...and it feels as though I only have a certain number of good swings available in one night, at some point the swing and tempo get wonky.
Does anyone else struggle with the same issue and/or provide any insight???

I play on PC using a mouse so unless you do as well i cant really help, I couldn't play with the mouse I use 24/7, the swing was really terrible so I dug an old technika mouse I had out, its a bit big and clunky but is brilliant for golf, if you use a controller then maybe some of the other guys can help.

Looks like a few weeks off for me. My computer had a problem last night and won't start. I'm thinking the BIOS is corrupt as there was just an Alienware update yesterday. So now I have to wait for Dell to send a box with a shipping label, pack it up and send it to them. Then supposedly 5 days to fix and then they send it back to me. My best guess is three weeks. Meanwhile I'm on an old ASIS laptop which is impossible to play. All settings are are bare minimum and TGC still drags with major hesitations. Oh well.
