Decided to use my 1st round as a warm up for my 2nd round and play that as well. Started off with another eagle on 1 and even my shots that looked like they were going to bad ended up being good as a couple times a shot wide hit the slope and left easy birdie putts, which I'm sure was exactly what I was trying to do. Was -9 through 11 holes and of course as soon as I started thinking about the great round I could have I hit the wall and only had one more birdie to finish -10.
-19 at the cut sounds like it should be safe but in keeping with tradition I won't play the 3rd and 4th rounds until I know I have to.

-11, -7 to sit at -18 at the halfway point. Couldnโt come to terms with the softer conditions of round 2. Looking forward to the season.

Nice course PithyDoctorG, the Tour version plays well. Played my first two rounds, unfortunately my shiiiiiiiiite putting cost me big time; went -6 and -8 for -14 at the cut and likely to be a couple short I think. Lipped out or shaved the cup 12 times over the two rounds; if I made a few then probably safe for the cut, make most and I'd be right up there. Oh well onto next week; good luck to those yet to start / finish.

Woof! Terrible R2 -3. -9 total after 2 will be a missed cut and probably a demotion mark...hopefully not 2 demotion marks.

Round 2 scores in and it looks like the cut will be about -16; those on -15 have some sweating to do but they may get lucky.
For those on -14 (yay me) or worse we can look forward the the first Doyley kiss of season 5. Roll on Week 2.

-18 after 2. Looks save for the cut. Though i really couldn't be happy with the 2nd round 64. So many bad pars on easy holes. Or after good drives. But 2 round left to make up for that and try to move up.

Demotion strikes are only for those in 120th and below Wes - so missing the cut is not now an automatic-strike

-3 and -4 for a stunning -7!! Missed cut for sure, all thanks to forgetting how to play this game. This course leaves you with a lot of pitch shots and that is not a strong point of my game. Short par 4's that leave you with a 70-80 yd pitch, you gotta be getting up and down, not missing the green or leaving it 20ft away. Liked the course though, very fair test no crazy holes. That long par3 is it the 3rd? Got me everytime with a bogey due to landing on the right side of the green and having a monster breaking putt. Anyway good luck all and see you next week, when hopefully i might remember how to play!!

Remember you don't HAVE to leave yourself a pitch. especially on front pin locations i prefer a little wedge over the pitch.

I need to change my game for tgc19 as the pitch shot was easy before. Will have to use some course management from now on.

TBH, I used my 2W off the tee a lot on this course, sometimes even a 3IR. Course management for sure unless you enjoy pitch shots (not me).
