Glad they finally removed beginner clubs from this tour. For the life of me I don’t know why we shouldn’t all be on the same level of clubs. Makes no sense.

Played first round of the promo event. Check out this ridiculous scorecard. Double bogeyed 3 of the first 4 (putting down/up mountains is hard), then calmed down and got into a little groove culminated by an ACE of hole 12. Then immediately fell back off the rails. So frustrating to make a hole in one and still not break par. This is not quite St. Bede's but it's a tough course.. no idea what the score cutoffs for promo are gonna look like.

Know how you feel.... nothing worse than on the green on the first putting for birdie from short range..... and then you 4-putt for double bogey... that really hurt to do that on the first!!!! I struggled back to finish +1 after 18. Well done on your Ace! Edit (me): R1=+1, R2=+2, R3=-5, R4=-4..... to finish -6 after 4 rds.

I did pretty much opposite as you, I doubled 12, it was about as hard as 1 to put on, so be thankful for that ace. Then on 15, my ball trickled off the bank, and down into the stream, and the game only gave me the option to put it over on the opposite side, where there was forest and no shot at all. so had to play it from back where I hit it two strokes down.
I'll have to play it a couple more times, but on first play, I almost think this one is harder than St. Bedes. but enjoyable though!

That was followed by 3 rounds of average.... +1,+2, +3... oh well... there are glimpses of hope!

Right well the first round caught me out massively and I had a +1 😂.
Top 200 in the world to shooting over par in CCZ 😂
Next week will be my week !!! 😎.
Hopefully get a shot at the promotion tournament but probably not

I wonder if this will be my last week in CC-Z.... just realised, even though I am 265th place on the promotion event, I’m actually 3rd highest CC-Z player! Interesting to see how things play out.

Looks like at -13 I am just going to miss the promotion marks.
Really enjoyed this course though. Provides a good fair challenge.
Promotion event I self cut myself after 2 rounds. Boy was that tough!!!

Alas and woe is me!
I started out good, I had a -4 and -3. But then, had to work some 12 hour days the rest of the week, 4 hours driving each day, and by the time I got home, I just crashed, didn't feel like playing.
So today, I suddenly had at least 5 rds of golf to play, before the deadline tonight. (at least 1 warmup due to not playing for 5 days, 2 special events, and 2 CCZ)
warmup went ok... Knew it would be a marathon (for me, I rarely can play over three rounds at a time), so I went and played R3 of the special. figured if I still was rusty, I'd rather do badly on that one. Did ok, not great, but wasn't expecting great, Man thats a hard course!!
So went on to finish Old Tom. Was doing really good, front nine, after 8, I was already -4, putting me at -11 for the tournament. I thought, hey, I might be in line for my first ever promo mark.
Then I lost it. Totally. I don't know if tiredness hit, or what, but suddenly, I just completely lost focus, and could not putt, and tempo was out the window. (phone ringing off the hook and wife agro didn't help either. LOL) But I watched helplessly as I lost SEVEN strokes in a row. I could not stop and come back, due to schedule and having to finish tonight. I had to play R4 after this and did even worse.
So was sitting at -11 and ended at +8. UGH. Oh well, on to next week!

Emotionally wrecked after two rounds on the Orchard Lakes course.... water.. water.... 2 consecutive triple bogies and the clubs and golf bag were about to be thrown in the water too..... managed to get that round done +3.... then -3 in Rd 2 to finish back where I started at E. I can’t handle any more rounds today... I think it may have been 5 balls in the water so far. Edit (wow): some good news now to reward persistence (I think!) After starting this thread and saying then “hope my stay in CC-Z is short”.... well following the promotion event, I’m now off to CC-G...promotion!! Cya later people, it’s been fun in CC-Z (no pressure!) Until next time at least

oh wow, Grats!!
I'll be interested to see the scores at Orchard lake. some of those places are pretty tight with the water. I hit it once, and missed a couple putts, but otherwise was hitting the ball pretty well. Those greens though, like being on an ocean in a storm! I actually did better at Old Goober Farm, or whatever it is, the pro course, in my warmup round.

Boy was that tough!!! Same with me on the promotional event, but I only lasted 2 holes into the 2nd round. The game decided to screw me over with lag and inconsistencies that led to my -4 in the first round being +2 after 2 holes. I quite like the idea of working my way up slowly from the bottom tier though without jumping up... that's what i keep telling myself

Have played first 2 rounds at this weeks course (Orchard). Think i put 4 balls in the water on par-3, #7. See you next week.

just played R2. I put two in the water this round, but oddly, they weren't on #7, or anywhere else that it was designed for. Oh nooooo, I put mine in the water in places where I just mis hit the ball, and like a little moth to a flame, it went right towards water that wasn't really anywhere near where I should have been hitting. One of them, I didn't even know water was there until the ball went towards it!!
Then on 18, I took a relatively easy approach shot, and nailed that tree to the left, dead center, in such a grand fashion that it came right back at me, but ended with the tree directly in between me and the green.
Those, plus these extreme slopes on the greens, pretty much took me out of the running for a top 25!

The trees hate me on the orchard. lol
was not doing well, but was hanging in there, to finish somewhere just above demotion strikes.
Then, on 15, I hit the tree near the green, the big oak, and ended up directly behind it. Proceeded to hit the SAME tree, THREE TIMES, before I finally got out from under it. That probably bumped me down to the strike zone.
on to Eli's!
