Yeah it's so frustrating! Just when you think you've mastered it... Still it's probably lowered your expectations and you will surprise yourself next round again -3 +8 -3 +2 +4 overall. This is just as frustrating as real life! How are you doing? Yeah it is frustrating! Here are some tips that have helped me, maybe they might help you keep those scores low? First of all: you need GIR's. That's key to scoring. Give yourself a birdie putt on every hole and you'll be fine so what does that mean? 3 things: 1) don't go for every pin. Especially if they're tucked away near danger (bunkers, rough, big slopes etc). Sometimes middle of the green and putting is just fine enough 2) give yourself a better chance at hitting the green by playing from the fairway. Maybe that means dialling back to a 3w off the tee? Maybe it means playing a conservative line far from rough and bunkers even if it leaves you further away 3) give yourself a better chance at a clean stroke by not adding fade / draw and loft modifications. This usually means playing one less club to the front of the green but at least that swing band is as big as it'll get. Fairways and greens, boring golf. You'll be under par every round guaranteed. More advanced tips would be: - learn to chip with that lob wedge - learn to pitch and flop too - play a practice round in the course before you tee it off in CC-AM in the same conditions as the round. You may not learn much but if you have just 2 "aha" moments like "don't be left of this pin" it can save you a couple of shots on your round That's it off the top of my head!

Thanks!
Agreed. That's exactly what I've been trying to do with my rounds; it worked for the two rounds under par, and the +2 could've easily been a - 1 if not for me missing some putts that could've been made by a first time player with arthritis in both wrists wearing a blindfold.
The flop shot has saved me more than I can remember, but the +8 was almost soley down to one meltdown hole where I chipped over the green twice and ended up with a quad. Eurgh.

This is just as frustrating as real life! How are you doing? Some good advise! I did do a practise round before this weeks tournament definitely helped me with a few holes. Just keep playing PGA tour and join a society and you will get there. I've done alright this week -7 -2 -10 -3 With my 1st and 3rd round I was frustrated with the other 2 rounds. Just couldn't get it done but overall the best I've ever done. Look at the improvement you've made from last weeks event. All you can do is keep playing/practising and you will keep improving. Let's face it apart from 1 round you had 3x solid rounds 👍

73 +1 79 +7 77 +5 91 +19 (!)
LOL
My putting slaughtered me in the last round - I think I 4 putted a few holes. Maybe I really shouldn't play 4 rounds in one sitting (or not late at night when I'm tired and get tilted easy)

I always tell myself I'm going to take it nice and easy, and not play all four rounds at once... But I can't help myself!

It is tempting I agree. Being new to the game and this society, and reading a few tips; I'm thinking of playing practice rounds before each consecutive rounds. I'm curious how many golfers here do that. May be to extreme but I have the time. Lol!!
Cheers!

So, +4 overall, which is a 24 (!) stroke improvement on last week, but still not enough to crack the top 100. Definitely need more GIR and birdies overall to secure some movement marks...

Welp, looks like my amazing -11 second round paid off barring a miracle. I think I just won my first tournament on my fourth ever played!!!! Question, if my lead holds do I automatically move up a division?

I finished 19th, 40th and 13th in my first three. This course really clicked with me. I shot a -5 under on the last round and thought I blew my chances.
