Well, after R2 this week, I'm doing better than I thought. I had a dismal 38% driving accuracy in R2 and that ain't gonna cut it on this course. (or many places for that matter. lol)
I was prepared for the worst, but pleasantly surprised that the course must be hard than I thought for everyone, not just me, and I'm a bit higher than expected. Only 2 shots out of the master promo, so time to bear down and see if I can do better during the last half!

What a fickle, fickle game we play.
I still couldn't find that rhythm I lost last week. Was feeling lucky to get pars. Sitting at +4 on the back side, around hole 12, thinking oh woah is me, I'm gonna get another red mark....
All the sudden birdie, then eagled the par 5, then aced the par 3.
Wow. funny how quickly this game makes you go from feeling bad to good, and vice versa sometimes.

So I just made top 25 for the first time after playing 15 tournaments! Most will laugh but this is a big accomplishment for me who just started using pro clubs after the beginner clubs were banished to their own tour. Very excited to see if I am even close in the upcoming tournaments or maybe I hit lightning in a bottle

Sometimes 4x rounds feels more like an endurance challenge than anything else trying to keep bogeys at bay. Hope you rack up the top 20's and get those promotion marks!

I'm fairly new to TGC 2019 and this weeks my first tournament following getting my tour card. The feelings I get from this game at times is so like the real thing. It's so funny how you can be nailing it one minute and then completely losing your tempo and even basics the next. Makes you appreciate when you do put a few decent rounds together. Keep up the good work and see you on the leaderboard!

Thanks and I agree, I am playing 1st round of the Sultans of Swing Shootout and was sitting @ -3 thru 7 then BAM triple Bogie. after that par, par birdie birdie, so getting it back under control but you always kick self for the missed putts and blow up holes. Key is to treat it like real golf, your last shot is in the past - look forward. Key is that approach shot so you are not left with 25' + putt for birdie. One thing I noticed that I do not get playing other games is nervous, especially that first tee on round 4..... That is an awesome feeling getting that from a videogame so real it is unreal......

Thanks, it is a grind sometimes but love the challenge. Know I will never get the video game scores but am happy to get realistic scores more than -40 which you may as well play Tiger Woods with the spinning ball and steering......

Hey, congrats, man!! Pretty much the same for me, I made my first top 25 ever in Tin Cup, and I have played over a year here, I think like 27 straight events!
But I got fast tracked up to CC-G.
LOL at first I thought it was a mistake, because there was a message in red about some mistakes in the new scoring system, to not pay attention to it.
But here it is mid week, and I'm still in G, so the fast track thing must've been real.
I'm still not entirely sure I should be there, I mean, after a year of this type play, I would not fast track me for one great game. I'll not be surprised if I'm back here in a month or so.
we shall see!

Just completed my first tournament. Started off well with -7, was raining birdies. Frustrating 2nd round until I hit my first hole in one on the back 9 and backed it up with 2x birdies on the next 2 holes but dropped 2 cheap shots at the end to finish -3. 3rd round was like I've never played the game before. Inconsistent tempo, poor approach play, misreading putts. Ended +3 but only thanks to 3x birdies on the last 3 holes. Luckily I had a solid final round ending -5.
Finished -7, -3, +3, -5 = -12
My bad round makes me think I'll struggle to finish top 20 now which was looking likely after 2 rounds. Still this is why we like this game for the challenge.
Not a great lover of the course, I had some good moments but didn't like the unrealistic high teas and a couple of the pin positions in the wind were very difficult

Man I've got a long way to go. I finished +28!
At this point I'm competing only against myself. I'm just trying to improve each shot, each round, each tournament. As long as im progressing, I'm happy.

As long as im progressing, I'm happy. Are you playing on console? The quickest improvement I found was positioning my controller in a way that I could begin to hit straighter shots consistently. Rather than holding the controller in my hand like all other games I find resting it on my leg has helped

Yeah I'm on XB1. Still trying to figure out a consistent shot. I think I might have something though. First two rounds were +11 and +12, and the last two were +3 and +2 so at least I'm trending in the right direction.
That's my story and I'm sticking with it. 🤓

I mean I'm near the bottom of the leaderboard so I'm terrible either way but I didn't really like the course. Some of those tees were skyscrapers.
