Welcome to the BBC (European Tour) Weather Center!
The general weather center will give you the info on how the green staff will set up the golf course each week. This thread will show you why the course will be set that way!
The weather that we use each week will likely* be the forecast for the next complete Th-Sun at the location of the real life course used on Tour when we look at the forecast while scheduling.**
*I say likely because if a course is on the easy side or on the hard side and the weather is supposed to be wet for said easy course, or really windy for said hard course, we might tweak the conditions to not make it unfair, so easy it's boring to play the 4 rounds, or so hard it makes you want to pull your hair out.
**This means that it might not be the one for the forecast that you see for the next Th-Sun. It might have been last weeks or even the week before that. Scheduling takes some time!
We chose to do it this way to take away as much bias as possible. We also don't want to change the conditions just for the sake of changing it. There may be a week or two that the conditions are very similar all 4 rounds. There are weeks like that IRL, too!
I'm looking forward to finally getting this season going!
Cheers, Matt
P.S. Edit: Rain is bad for FPS so you will never play in the rain during a round

Wait, for real? Is this really happening? This is how the weather forecasts should be? I would expect the firmest/fastest conditions to be round3... and with overnight rain, softer and slower on round4.

Are we gonna know the green speeds and firmness before the round starts? You can find that in the general tour weather reports in this thread: tgctours.proboards.com/thread/16353/tgct-weather-reportUsing the BBC weather report, you can guess which conditions will be used when. Lastly, you can see the conditions in the Euro society when you load up the tournament to play that week. The tournament put into the societies is the last step of the process cause the administrators have to put in the tournament on each system. This is to prepare yourself since I know that this will come out a minimum of a week ahead, likely more. Also, this thread is me explaining to you the exact forecast that I use that guides me towards the set up that week. So, if anyone is complaining about why it's all soft one week, all firm one week, or windy every day, I'm just gonna link this thread

Seeing as there is no exact wind speed for the pro tours, how long before someone complains that they were playing R2 for 15mph wind and the ball would come up either way short or fly over the green?

I would hope that people would know the wind fluctuates during the round after playing it for a month+!

What about the other tours? There's a sticky at the top of each Tours' clubhouse.

Bingo. It's up to each scheduler whether they want to do something similar with this bonus weather center

Wow windy 2nd tournament for the Euros, more so than the PGA. I hope we get some softer fairways/greens at that rain in the second round.
