Just moving this thread over to an official WIP. My brain is overflowing with ideas and I need community help to iron it out !
I've decided to try my hand at making a full course one last time. I am 5 deep in the rough edit. The first 2 holes are featured in the 1st video. Here's a bit of the next three
The first pic is a view back from the drivable par 4 3rd. You can see the tees through the trees on the left and the cave from the 2nd on the right. The 2nd green is also in view..in the line of the putt.
Pic 2 shows the entire fourth hole, shortish par 4 with an intimidating 2nd shot. You then follow the path up the pass and tee off on the par 5 5th. I'm quite proud of it so far.
Your comments pleeease!!

Laid out 6 and 7. The 6th is a divided fairway. The right is a straighter path so shorter approach, but it is narrower and if you miss right... ob. Also the pins are set up such that you may not have a shot from the wrong angle..
The 7th is going to take forever but I have big plans. It is medium length par 3 with a steep drop in elevation. On the way down after your tee shot you will travel through a terraced garden section. This will be work but hopefully i can pull it out.
Try to add pics later

Spent a good bit of time on the 7th. Pictured is the terrace garden, custom water feature, and the Halocene Bridge. I wanted a rope suspension but no luck so this is what I came with
This bridge will make another appearance at the end of the course. The 18th tee will be situated on the left of it as pictured. I am unsure if the 17th green will be as well, but it's a possibility at this point for sure. It is not meant to be accessed from this hole therefore. Be nice to get crowds on there though

Daily inspiration. One is reminiscent of the tee shot on the 2nd. The other is the keystone of the par 5 16th. I will be breaking ground on the 16th after finishing the 7th because it is going to be such a huge sculpting project it will basically control the layout for the remaining 10 holes. I'm just going to think out loud here for a moment. An elevated lake with a waterfall that runs over the cave entrance where the tees are located. The lower water body divides into two branches that provide hazards to the drive then branches off to other holes before meeting back by the green. This drive I want a big carry number, I think the ball will settle around 410. The green I'm envisioning is trident or psi shaped with each spike being a different elevation and pin. Deep antichips in between. Each one will be a 'small' green amounting to an overall huge complex. Anybody up to speed on their Greek will appreciate this hole's final yardage being an exact 700 from the tips. Don't worry, I believe all holes should have a possible eagle putt

The latest. The 16th tee is complete. I have fairway and green out but sculpting is far from done. And no planting at all but, here's a look at what's been in my brain.. Also in view is the future site of the 15th green. I know I was going 410 on the drive but 437 works too and yes beginners can make the leap.

Daily update.. have holes 1-7 laid out and now 14-18 as well. Only 6 more to go. The best hole by far though, is the par 5 I've been working on. New additions are a gully that's out of play, and the green complex, which is a massive 80 yards or so wide with the right half protected in a way only a mountain could. It will have many haters, but far more bogeys. The green I came up with is quite bold, pay attention to the contours and choose your landing spot wisely. I have done a rough plant and made a vid for your viewing pleasure. Please, enjoy
Side note it says par 6 on the playthrough because of the ridiculous yardage but it will be fixed.

What do you call writers block when it comes to course designing?

Would a quarry such as this throw your swing into oblivion? Don't worry, there's plenty of bailout fairway. You just won't make the green that's all Aiming to have a beta version ready Friday. Anybody want to be the first to tee off from the summit?

Final yardages are here and the course is super close to ready. As is becoming the norm for me it is a short course but will test all levels. Tips 7215 reds 6688. Mids 6921. Typical par 72 layout. Gonna hold off on more photos but the views are to die for, you'll not regret teeing up here!

Nearly there, my plant meter is only half full so plenty of room for touching up. However we now have a playable golf course. And I want YOU to play it! Going up within the hour

Beta is live. Known issue with the tee shot on 2 with the camera getting stuck on reds. No biggie tho

Not a bad effort, and definitely a step up from the other course you showed me. Got a bit whimsical in spots, but that appears to be by choice, which is the designer's prerogative. If this course were in a contest, I'd say 1) watch the size/sculpting of your greens, which were a bit inconsistent. 2) The number of driveable holes were probably one or two too many. Don't get me wrong, I like a good short 4, but sometimes too much of a good thing is still too much. 3) Some planting along the water edges would help break up the look and add a little pop.
Like I said, all and all good work and it was a fun little course to play.

I don't know what wind you had but I was hoping you had noticed with even a moderate wind, which of the shorts are driveable and which are not can be changed like a light switch. Simply a direction change. Shorts are my favorite holes but maybe I've got too many. I see your point. As for the green sculpting I was hoping you could elaborate. I know you're not talking about breaking putts because these greens are too easy (was scared of the 'publishing error'). Some greens are rather large for sure, allowing a 9 iron on pin 1 to become a 6 iron on pin 4. Or a better example on 11 the front pin may be a 5 iron but the back pin is a driver. To me it was a means to essentially have more than 18 holes! And the small greens were of course limited to wedge only approach shots. That's just my perspective though and I hold you in high esteem. Did I touch on what you meant or am I just way off?

Did I touch on what you meant or am I just way off? I’ve out of town on work tomorrow & Saturday but should be on Sunday. We can take a spin around in chat and I can tell you what I’m seeing. It not so much and individual hole, rather how the whole package works together, if that makes any sense.
