Looks like ill be a life long CC Pro player. I cant get the tempo down with master.... and now even having trouble with the pros. I shot -12,-10,-8 and then tried pro clubs for rd 4 and barely broke even. I hate to use the baby clubs but if im 8-10 shots better then thats what ill have to do. Just hope they keep the CC courses relatively short lol.

I said this in another thread, but I'll post it here anyway. Today I played two rounds with identical conditions and pins on the same course. One with pro and one with master. I've used only master clubs since the new game came out. I shot 3 strokes better with master clubs. There are a lot of complaints around here about how anyone not playing master clubs has an unfair advantage because they are so easy. That's baloney. Maybe with beginner clubs, but with those, you can't hit it far enough to score low.
In my (not so humble) opinion, anyone who wants to improve and move up to higher tours should use master clubs. Personally, I would hate to start winning and moving up with pro clubs only to have to switch when I get up there. Players who are content to play CC-pro (nothing at all wrong with that) can play whatever they want, but for me, I want to get to Web so I'll be hacking the ball around with masters forever.
Of course, that's easy for me to say. If I'm playing badly enough, I might just move down to stabilize my game for a bit.

Well, since I started this thread, I will update. Here it is....at Bedes +18 with masters that included an 11 on one hole. Pearl = -30 with pro set for a -12 overall.
Easy decision, right? I have more fun with the master set so I will go with them knowing I will probably not compete as well. I just like the greater challenge.
I will be in CC-D probably to start so let's have a good time this season. Look forward to competing with you guys.

I'm totally with masters. I like the challenge of them and really I don't play to bad, I ended up +7 overall for Q School and will be hanging out in CCF I'm pretty sure.
I did do some changes after the Q School and I've become a bit more consistent. I switched from R Stick swing to L stick swing per a post on here. I've actually become more consistent and able to use my L thumb versus my R index finger. What I read was that if you are used to playing sports games like Madden and Tiger Woods from previous times the L thumb was used more for movement. Totally makes sense now I'm hitting them more straight and more perfect/perfect than before. Now if I could just putt better LOL. Hopefully the switch will improve my scores now.

I used masters in q school and shot +17 and ended in G. Decided to make the switch to Pro clubs to hopefully move up the ranks .

Since I bought the 2019 version, I never used anything other than the Master Clubs. They can be brutal, but they are rewarding when you hit them correctly. I always play from the tips in all matches I play (even for fun). I have a buddy that plays the tips with me and plays the Professional clubs. He agrees that if he chooses the easier clubs, he should have to pay the price of shorter distances (10-15 yards) and has no problem hitting from the Tips. I was in the Web in the original TGC and now I am CCC, which is great. Right where I belong. If you don't have any desire to move up, use the shorter clubs. IF you have any intentions of breaking that CC barrier, you NEED to play the master clubs. They may be awarding promotion points more liberally for the Master clubs.
What I don't understand is how someone playing the beginner clubs shoots a -80 for the qualifier?? Please explain.

I am level 44 on TGC2019 and have used the baby sticks throughout the entirety of the game so far. This is the first year that I have played the game and been apart of the TGCTours community. After Q-School i jumped on the forums and saw everyone discussing the clubs and thought that I will just play with the beginners. As I read more and more, I realized that I could only go down in the standings if I chose to use the beginner clubs and practiced with the masters for a week. I wasn't amazing or anything but I am not ashamed at all of my -22 at Holyoke for my first 4 round tournament with the master clubs. I was even able to shoot my first career Albatross this week.
I actually enjoyed the stress of using masters clubs rather than breezing through with beginners, which came as a surprise to me. I just wanted to post and tell a little bit of my situation because without this thread I would have still been hitting the baby sticks and not really competing to get into Web.com.

Once q-school moved to Pearl, I shot a -39, still with the masters clubs. Pretty close to the same 50 stroke swing you had, but without changing clubs. The courses were just that much different. I haven't tried anything but the masters clubs yet. I seem able to compete on most day, but some days everything falls apart. I do try and juice the drive and can get it most of the time, but I pay the price with the occasional very fast approach shot. I like that the option is available. FYI: I play on Xbox

Sneaky Pete, I play on PS4 and have a tough time with the fast/very fast downswing, especially with my irons. The big difference to me between master and pro club sets is the short game. It is much easier to me on the pro clubs; chipping, pitching lobing and putting are more forgiving.

Pro clubs. Masters just don’t have enough reward for the extra risk they give me. Although if I’m playing really well I may sometimes change to masters.

Will use Masters. Sometimes when I play with them everything feels great. Had a practice round at St Bedes where I shot a 59... But some times I can't get the tempo right at all and end up all over the place. For the first week now in CC-B I shot -8,-5,-5 and -2. Last round was horrible and was so mad that I decided to play the PGA TOUR event at the Kraken and managed a -9. So I just need to work on my bad rounds I guess, and hopefully sometime be able to jump up to CC-A and WEB.

Pro clubs. Masters just don’t have enough reward for the extra risk they give me. Although if I’m playing really well I may sometimes change to masters. This does appear to be a thing which is why you are seeing very good players dropping to Pro clubs which ultimately gives them an advantage. The clubs are not balanced correctly in my view. What I mean is that it should be where if you are a very good player, that you shouldn't really be smashing your score from Master clubs when using Pro clubs. I'm seeing people say that just by dropping down a club set they are shooting 8+ shots better - 1 post above stated a 21 shot turnaround. This should not be the case. Yes beat your Masters score but at a push be about 4-5 shots better and it should be that using Masters will ultimately give you an advantage over Pro clubs. I just wonder if it is the short game that is making the difference here with the Pro clubs being so much less penal than Masters?? Anyways I play for the fun of the game although most of the time I will be battling to survive in every division - Master clubs and TST style boom!

I confirm that short game is what is killing me the most with Master club, and it was/is the most brutal transition going from pro to master

maybe masters clubs should have less tempo issues
