There are a couple of fun events set up now in the CC-Pro and CC-Am societies in TGC 2019. Hack away, ladies and gents!

Just shot -10 in my first round in the latest CC-AM exhibition (St Andrews)... not bad for a scrub like me!

I am probably going to break down and go ahead and get the game this weekend and start playing.
With the exhibition events, are we required to join and play in our society only? Or can we also join and play fun events in other societies, if they have different course/tees?

You can play in any and all of them

the pro clubs are much more sensitive than the player clubs I'm finding out. I'm in trouble.

Of course I said the above in a rage quit. +4 after 6 holes. Ended the round even. LOL. Nice course actually. Just LOOK at the green before you go for it.

Getting the tempo right for flop shots so they don't over-shoot is going to be my main area of concern. And of course, putting.
Using Master clubs as they seem to be not too far away from the old Player set I was used to, and the multipliers used to penalise mis-timed shots seems to be ramped down a good bit. As long as you hit straight it's difficult to go too far wrong, and even if you do go a bit awry the rough isn't nearly as rough as it used to be.
Controlling roll-out is much more difficult now especially on firm greens, but yet you still see the top players managing fine. The loft charts must be back on the go again! On the plus side, I'm not seeing my short irons spinning miles back downhill and off the greens so much. In fact there doesn't seem much of the old creeping off the greens scenario this time around at all.
And putting. . . slow greens are impossible, the ball dives away from the hole at the last minute as the ball slows down and gravity takes over. Very difficult to allow for, IMHO. Even 187 greens are slower now, downhill putts don't need the putting marker = distance+2 calculation so much, it's more of a straight 1-for1 I'm finding.
It's all going to take a bit of getting used to, I suppose.

No worries. Can always find something else to tide me over. Love the format and competition of the societies, that and career mode seem to be the only way I play this game now. (You could do with some help to fill in when you are unable to do it. I'd volunteer but have no idea how to set up society events.)
