Was trying to match the lighting on some of the photos from the site to use as release photos, and I think I stumbled on the lighting I will use.

I feel fairly confident in saying the planting is done. Getting in a playtest tonight. Probably 2-3 tomorrow. Not sure of my schedule for this week but maybe a Tuesday or Wednesday publish. i can say without fear of overstating by much that this is as breathlessly awaited a course as i can imagine on tgc19. thanks for all the effort to all of you master designers! and the pics look amazing theclv24! i’ve got an rcr classic links (irish/scottish/english etc.) wishlist a mile long if anyone wants to hear it. cheers, eric

Just finished another 2 playtests. Got all 4 pins, a couple different winds, and one forward tee and no scout cam test. Not sure what else I can test, and I got about 45 minutes on my hand, so going to publish it now. Look for the release thread within the next hour.

You can always check the scorecard in the lidar tools! Just import a completed course, works for even non-lidar courses.

You've done a great job clv. It's just a shame the game itself don't do links courses justice.

Some setup details for the Irish Open that will help with your tournament version Thanks! Very helpful info here. That resolves the par 5 issue. The wording is a little strange, but sounds like the 18th will play longer than it currently does, so it will be a legit par 5. Right now the back 18th tee and the back 15th tee sit side by side. Moving the 18th tee back to one of the 15th forward tees will likely introduce some interesting timing issues between 18 and 15, but I'll have to take a look at it and see if I can figure out how it will work. I wish I could get a full glimpse of where they set up stands, camera towers, and tents before the tournament so I could release that version ahead of the Open, but I also don't want to have more than two different releases of the course, so I'm going to just have to bite the bullet and wait until after the Open to release the next version. Waiting will also let me chart putts and improve the accuracy of the greens.

Waiting will also let me chart putts and improve the accuracy of the greens. From what I've gathered, a number of grandstands will be set up on the castle course side and on the road for some of the final holes. They're going to be pedestrianising the entire village so all roads are closed in and out of the village.

Waiting will also let me chart putts and improve the accuracy of the greens. I'm betting it will be one of the middle tees off to the right on #15 that they will use for #18. If they use the front tee on #15 it would be right in line with the back tee on that hole and they would be hitting at each other. Using one of the middle ones instead would tack on 30-40 yards to the current 535 yarder. It would also make the fairway bunkers 295 on the right and 330 on the left.

Yeah I'm at work right now so can't look in depth, but I watched Jim gem's video and was looking out for it. The Middle tees at 15 are definitely offset enough that they aren't in line with the tee shot from the back, so I imagine it will be one of those two. The timing will still be tricky, though. 4, 5, and 18 will need to be well-choreographed, as well as the 7th tee shot and 6th green.
Really I'm completely fascinated by this tournament and how it will work.

Agree, same with Portrush when I was looking at doing it, just seeing what spots they find for new tee boxes and then all the stands and hospitality and parking and logistics of it all is really interesting to me. Not to mention the fact they made two brand new holes for it that completely changed the feel of the back nine.
