Hi. Quick question. How do you get promoted to the next CC? The only info I could find on the site was to win an event. Is that the only way? I am absolutely hooked on TGC2 because of TGCTOURS, and want to understand exactly what I'm chasing to get up to the next circuit. Thanks in advance. This current event is a little beast. The first 2 pinsets had some royally frustrating hole locations. Great course though. I'm +2 through 2, but my practice rounds through the 3rd have been promising. You can get an exemption to the next flight up if you finish in the top 10% of the leaderboard. But whilst on the exemption in the higher flight you need to finish in the top half of the leaderboard to get a tour card for that flight. A tournament win will move you up and get a tour card and you can proceed as normal. So, if I manage to place above the exemption line, then I get bumped up? But if I can't place in the top half of the leaderboard in the next CC, I get pushed back down? Or is it the 5 demotion strikes that push you down? I just wanna make sure that I understand you properly.

If you finish above the exemption line you move up a flight, but in the higher flight you have to finish in the top half of the leaderboard in the next tournament to stay up. Once you do that then it's back to 2 strikes below 100th place and 1 strike bottom half.

Always cool seeing new names on the forums, first off... Welcome! Yes if you win an event you automatically earn your Tour Card on the next flight up. The other way to get a tour promotion is to first earn a Sponsor's Exemption which allows you to play the following week on the flight above your current tour. You earn a Sponsor's Exemption by finishing above (better than) the 'Exemption Line' (see image below) on the leaderboard. Everyone above that line earns a Sponsor's Exempion for that particular week and will receive an email from TGCTours confirming it. When competing with a Sponsor's Exemption you will play the event on the next tour up the list and your name will appear on the leaderboard with an (S) next to it. This shows which players are there on exemption status. If you finish above the 'Clear Strikes' line on the leaderboard while on your exemption then you will earn your Tour Card for that tour and receive an email from TGCTours granting you your promotion. Your tour card will be automatically updated on the site as you move through the ranks. Hopefully this all makes sense! Good luck on the tours! You explained it perfectly. Thank you, and thanks for the welcome. I really enjoy everything about tgctours so far, and I really want to climb the ranks. One thing I love about the game is practice really pays off, and every shot makes you think. Such a great game. My wife even mentioned that she doesn't see me playing anything but golf any more. Lol

Rd 2 was a -6 66 thanks mostly to steadier play and psychologically by the iggle on 18! -7 thru 36 has me currently at T32 which is the upper thirdish? I'll take it after that indifferent (fugly) first round. How about you CiB0RG? Onward!

Hoping to get back on track next week but I've been playing awful the last few weeks.

I find it really hard to read the greens this week. They are so undulated that the grid doesn't pick up everything. Anybody else struggling?

And a 10 on the par 3 13th. Played a little, NAY, a lot of beach volleyball on that hole. A tee shot, 2 putts, and a whole bunch of moving earth. Sigh. Another Tom Petty round. Onward!!

Opening round 67 for CC-B. Not bad, but not good enough to contend at this bracket. Hopefully I can keep up a -5/rd pace though, I'd be happy with that.

Posted -31 and even left a few strokes out there with dumb 3-putts, might be good enough for a Web.com exemption.
Really liked the course, plays to my strengths, because tour clubs weren't required. Will have to figure them out sooner or later though, on some courses the missing distance really hurts. Right now, I'm way too inconsistent with them, my drives are fine most of the time, but my approaches are worse and I don't really know why.

Very long par 4's, add to that very undulating fairways which lead to a lot of uphill approach shots then add a wind in your face. Green in regulation...good luck. Then some long par 5's. And at least one or more 230 yard par 3's. This will be a tough course for the CCP. Looking forward to it myself...or not lol You may not have to deal with it if you make exemption though.

I struggled bad for some reason on this course with swing tempo. Worst that I've encountered since I bought the game. But it all worked out because I got DQ'd for hitting the ball straight a few times so my piss-poor performance basically got erased....LOL THANK GOD!!

This course and I really don't get along. I like the course. I'm not complaining about the course, but I just can't get the greens. Plus, the wind was way up all four rounds. I went 71-63-71-66 for -17. That's probably strike-worthy on CC-A. Really, the only thing keeping me from Web at this point is consistency. I always seem to have one blow-up round surrounded by excellent rounds. If I went -6 for all four rounds I would be happy. Instead, I go -10 then -1. And, despite hitting -40 twice, I've never broken 60. I've shot 60 plenty of times but haven't gone lower. Grr.
Hopefully, the next game isn't crazy different in play. It will be different for sure, but I'd like to take everything I've learned and apply it when the new game comes out.

-19 for the tournament, I'll take that. Clear the strikes off before next week when I'll probably start collecting them again.

Knowing I was out of contention somehow relaxed me.
Bogey free -6 on the front. Opened with a double on 10, bounced back by going -6 over the last 8 holes. -10 62 one of my better efforts of late (still hoping for a sub 60 round before this game is supplanted).
-15 hopefully stays strike free. MAN!, what a Jekyll and Hyde tourney for me; -1, -6, +2, -10...consistently inconsistent!
Off for a brief hols, I'll be back for the start of next event. Best of luck to all who finish.
Onward!
