Originally there was a different course planned for this week then I came across this one, it had Utah in its name, we are playing this week in Utah, so I thought to myself, let’s do some really radical and play a course where the event is actually set. I know, completely of the wall for the web.com but with one swift stoke of my pen, it was done. One designer was left crushed, in tears at the thought of the dishonor and shame brought to his family name, another designer elevated to hero status in his home state and all the glory and riches that brings. The power of a scheduler in action. So webbers, welcome to Utah and the course that wins the most unusual name of the year award. One ranger described this course as quirky and I will admit, it does have a little bit different look and feel to it. All the rangers described this course as fun and that it is, a all rounder of a course, that should have something to suit all players, so enjoy your visit to Utah and have fun.
Disclamer, no designers were hurt in the selection of this weeks course, the other course is being used in a few weeks.

I got off to a good start in round 1 with back to back birdies, then had a "very fast" downswing on my approach on 3, didn't recover well, and bogeyed 3 and 4 before I settled down. Ended up -8 in round one, which isn't nearly good enough here. Round 2 got off to a really good start, -10 thru 11 with a couple chip-ins, thought I had a chance to get back in it with 3 or 4 more birdies, but couldn't make anything down the stretch and parred out, finished at -18 at the cut. I expect that will be at least 2 shots below the cut, probably more. Good luck to all those yet to play, see you next week!

The shadows on the greens were killing me. Couldn't see a single break and the hole just disappears.

Very quiet in here again this week. hmammoth has decided to give us an easier course this week, this just means he has a bast**d of course lurking in the next few weeks. Valley View is an interesting course and while it does have some harder holes I think it sits on the border of being a CC-Am / CC-Pro course so scoring will be good, particularly with most of the Par 5's easy to get on in 2. I played it a couple of weeks ago in the RRCC and scored ok (58); I expect the cut to be a bit higher than usual this week at around -20. Played Rd 1 and there is very little wind so the course is their for the plundering; unfortunately my approaches were off and I constantly left myself putts around 15 ft, lipped out or shaved the cup on 5/6 holes and what could have been great ended up being a very mediocre 63 (-9). Onto Rd 2 and the wind was back, usually around 10-12 mph although gusty, hit my approaches a bit better and got some lucky bounces also; still just missed 3/4 putts and could of had a fantastic round if they dropped, although happy enough with a 58 (-14), So -23 and safe at the cut, have to wait and see how Rd's 3 & 4 play out later in the week. Good luck to those yet to play / finish.

-22 at the cut for me. Pleased with how I played just wish I had those two bogeys back on the front 9. Had a bogey in round 1 and 2. Got lucky with some chip ins in round 2. I’m hoping for a -40 for this event and a good finish. Been stuck in neutral on the money list.

Missed the cut on the line last week with -16. Got it to -19 this week so hoping it just scrapes in. It felt like an easy course, but the ball wasn't dropping for me at all. 63-62 might be good enough for the weekend and I can try and push on.

This course looks simple, but if you don't respect it, it will bite you. Very nice design! I had fun playing it.

Best tournament I’ve had since going to TGC2. Had a couple bogeys in round 4 that will likely knock me out of a chance to win but I think I’ll be getting my first exemption of the season after Saturday is over.

Looks like a blown exemption shot for me; -23 at the cut and when I got back on today for Rd 3 suddenly swing has gone to sh%$, scrambled a -7 so -30 after 3. Try Rd 4 another day and hope swing comes back.
Good luck to those yet to finish.

I’m guessing -40 and better will get exemption. Looks like I wasn’t in contention after all with those two -40s on top after round 3. I got it to -45 for the tournament with a -11 in round 4. Looks like -50 will win this one.

There isn't an Exemption Line on the Web main leaderboard. Does anyone know where the line is going to fall?

There isn't an Exemption Line on the Web main leaderboard. Does anyone know where the line is going to fall? Congrats on The Open qualifying man! Surely they round up for you and you squeak in? BUT.... if you get the exemption into the European Tour, which one is it gonna be? Cause that was the exact decision I didn't want to have to make lol.

Thanks! If I got an Exemption, the decision is really easy for me. The Web still doesn't have an exemption line though, so I don't know. Looks like I will just play The Open, and unfortunately probably only get a couple of rounds this week then back to the Web. Just not real sure where to play my rounds due to not knowing about the exemption on the Web.

You won't have an exemption - 12th out of 118 is one place out of it (the 10% rounds down completely so 11th and ties is the exemption line) Good luck in the Open therefore.
