a "straight" putt that was anything but. Folks, if you're putting a pin on a ridge, please practice putting on the ridge...I'm begging you...if it breaks when there's no way to see the break, I'm taking a full star off the rating. It's my biggest pet peeve about course design - the green grid just isn't fine enough to show the nuance of a ridge. This isn't a green design issue. There isn't much a designer can do to avoid this possibility, other than to make the green a consistent slope across the entire surface. What is really happening is that the white moving beads fail to represent the movement, but you can see the tilt of the green grid itself. The best method to do this is to use the scout camera and move it down to the ground, and then slowly move it forward/backward so that the grid lines can be compared to the bottom of your TV/monitor to see whether they are perfectly parallel. The issue with the beads has been around forever and it doesn't seem to be going anywhere in TGC2019.

You do know you didn’t putt that even close to straight right?

Rod is correct, Kevin - your swing plane on the putt was to the right so even if the green was completely flat, you would have likely missed the putt.
Regarding how your other clip ended, with your golfer behind the foliage of the tree, there is a means of changing your view which would have likely given you a clean look at things. On PS4 (and likely the same on XB1; can’t speak to PC), pressing down on the left stick as if it were a push button moves the camera into a few different positions. Try it out.

On a lighter note, your vocal frustration on the stream reminds me of Judge Smails’ nephew Spaulding 😂

You do know you didn’t putt that even close to straight right? Yeah I pushed it right, and it still missed left, which speaks to the issue even more poignantly.

I must say, this course doesn't suit me at all. I rage quit in round 2; part course, part swing issues. So I've caved and went back to Player Clubs. It's just not fun dealing with these swing inconsistencies. I've thought about resuming this tourney to finish it, but doing so would require that I complete rd 2 using Tour clubs. And honestly, I've not sure if I care to do that at this point.

WELL - after two practice rounds of E and +2 I learned that I need to take this (and all it seems) course more seriously. I REALLY like this course now that I have more course knowledge.
I think I was calling it in the last few week - not REALLY thinking through each shot. I decided to get serious and BAM -6 and -8 in rounds 1 & 2.
To the designer - well done but yea - the darkness is a drag but it gives character and does not "ruin" the entire course LOL I DID make that island green on a drive with Player Clubs in practice. Have not tried since. But I've seen Tour clubs make it. OH that one par 5 side cliff hole. Hit the rough on the drive and stilled birdied. BAM!

I hate wind... that’s all lol
Btw loved the course! Hole 3 killed me for a triple in round 3. Missed my drive way left below the trees and behind the rocks. Had to punch to other fairway, lob over, and tap in for a 6 on a par 3. Was able to drive the par 4 island in one every time but every time I felt a little rush as I was shot calling. Bunch of fun holes and challenging pin placements in round 3/4.

Just finished round three and not going well at all.
Have to be up at 3am tomorrow to catch a plane so I'm not able to finish the tournament.
Will cop the two strike penalty which is exactly what it would have been anyway.
Not enjoying the game at the moment and not planning on buying 19 so it looks like my tournament career with TGC Tours is over.

I’m hoping Round 3 kicked everybody’s ass. Lol. Sure got me I never Even tried for the island green. You can birdie it without hitting that island. Why risk I whe a birdie is not THAT hard (2 out of 4)

Why risk I whe a birdie is not THAT hard (2 out of 4) I was doing pretty well... was playing about 4 under heading into the 14th (IIRC) - then all hell broke loose. Approach shot just off the green, about 5 yds from the pin, and instead of the game defaulting to a chip shot - it defaulted to a pitch shot. I didn't notice. I'd never had that happen before. I never checked the club or the shot. My fault I know but I never expected it to choose Pitch for a 5 yarder. I noticed it wasn't right during my backswing, let go of the stick and the game registered a shot. right over the green. Double bogeyed the hole. Heading into 18 I was still clinging to 3 under hoping for a miracle...looking back at the footage I accidentally clubbed down too far...and got stuck behind the palm trees on the fairway with no clean shot to the green. Hit branches, dumped in the water, made a poor decision to go waaaay back on the fairway....hit the trees again and more water. Finally dropped in the rough in front of the trees and finished the hole but everything I'd worked so hard for in all that wind was gone. 72 for the round. Closed out with a 68 and I'm pretty sure a -14 total sends me back to CC-Am. An incredibly frustrating Round 3 experience, and to be clear, not the course's fault at all. See ya'll around.

It's gave me a pitch shot a few times on this tournament, luckily I noticed during my back swing. I always swing back a couple of times before hitting the ball so I notice it when it goes back too far. The 3rd round was tough but I managed a -6 to finish the -17 after 3 rounds. I found myself going up and down between CC-D and CC-C for a few months, but I've seem to consolidate my place in CC-C. One thing I focused on was hitting the fairways from the tee, even if it meant dropping clubs. I play it safe as it's easier hitting out the rough from 50 yards than 200 yards. You'll get there in the end, good luck.

Still on the fence about playing this week. Will be on vacay Tue-Thu so not a lot of time to get the rounds in, BUT had a practice round where I got an ace on the first par 3(2nd? 3rd?). Shot a decent -5 or so(can't remember exact score), but after seeing only 5 of the first 59 not break par.... When I’m on the fence because of time I skip and play for fun. No need for EXTRA stress Sage advice grinder12000. Did I listen? OF COURSE not! Did I play well? OF COURSE not. At least rd 1. +1 at the turn, had to rally to post -2. Rd 2 started mucho better. Clean -6 on the front, careless bogeys on 12 and 13 but still posted -10 at the halfway point. Good enough to keep the strikes at bay? We will see. Onward!
