Just finished all four rounds in one sitting which is something I don’t normally do but I looked at the CC-A leaderboard before I started and the leader has started with a -16 under on that course with those greens there’s not a flat spot on them. That’s a ridiculous score I’m three shots better than that at -19 under but after 4 rounds 🤣 Edit I can feel at least one strike coming this week maybe two. Nooooooooooooo...-19 is double strike worthy? This stay on the Fonzie Tour WILL be brief.

So for my PR for the tournament I revisited Trout River at Bootleg Gap and tried out tour clubs. I didn't see much advantage to them just now as my accuracy with them is off, but that will come in time. So for the tournament I switched back to player clubs and gave myself a target of -7 as I reckoned that would just be in the top half. I managed my target in the first round and I'm hoping to find my feet in CC-B. That was my target in B also. 6 on a par 3 hurt. Taking a unplayable lie only moved me 20 yards back. anyway. Tour clubs. Tried them, loved the, hated them, loved them again which then turned to hate

Wait. Did lessangster say he did not like the greens? I think they are easy and very readable. Maybe the final 3 rounds will prove me wrong LOL

Rd 1, cruising on the front thanks to an eagle on 2...-5 at the turn.
Careless golf ensued on the back; bogeys on 10 thru 12 really deflated me. Rallied with a birdie on the first par 5 and an eagle on 18.
-5 after round 1, looks like I better grab some of those fancy pastries they only have on CC-A before I head back to the Killer B tour.
Onward!

Still up on Fonzie for the time being.
I carded a bogey free -8 in round 1. Not too bad but I did NOT putt well at all. With my plethora of close approach shots I should have at least been -11. Oh well, as long as the bogeys stay off the card I can't complain.

First CC-A tourney and it had to be Pebble. I don't know why but I never liked the course in any golf game, keep making dumb mistakes and leaving myself downhill putts all the time. Especially the downhillers really hurt, I'd rather have 20ft uphill than 10ft downhill on most pins.
Finished -23, hopefully just one strike.

Maybe the final 3 rounds will prove me wrong LOL I didn’t say I didn’t like them I just said you never get a flat putt on them, get the wrong side of them and your looking at a tough putt which is what happens to me. Putting isn’t my strong point either.

I'm going to play my PR's with tour clubs in the hope of getting used to them in a non-competitive environment. In doing so I hope that my accuracy with player clubs during a tournament will improve. I agree with you regarding the greens, them being soft means approach shots shouldn't roll too much. I think the wind picks up in round 3, so I'll definitely be sticking with player clubs for that round. I don't know if it would be worthwhile moving up to tour clubs until the new game is out as I'd probably have to change my swing for the new mechanics.

That's what I did with the tour clubs, took me about 3 weeks to get the confidence to use them in a tournie. And watch out for that wind in R3, it gets nasty. R4 is smooth sailing though. Goodluck!

Looking forward to the wind I think I do better then most. And yea. Better to be 20 feet up hill then 10 feet down hill. Also. I told a friend who was watching that coming up short on a down hill is not a bad thing. Better 4 feet short then 24 feet long as the ball keeps rolling
Tour clubs. Not needed unless you want to get to the upper tours which I don’t.
i still am smarting over a triple on a par 3 bouncing off the cliff twice

Was on fire and busted out two rds last night. Shot 62-60 for -22 heading in to the weekend, was ecstatic. Hopped on to check scores and right back to reality, god you guys are good. Mid pack CC-A for life it looks like. Been right under the exemption line twice now, maybe I’ll crack it one day 🙄
If I can bring it in the tough round 3/4 conditions we might have a chance this week.. who knows? After my I hate the wind comments last week, hopefully I can put some of the practice to good use.

Brought back down to earth in CC-B tonight I'm -12 after 3 rounds. A 2nd round of -3 and 3rd of -2 has left me in the strike zone. Played well in the wind it was just my putting that let me down. Also my chip shots randomly checking up, I thought it might be the soft greens but then others rolled by the hole. Saying that, you only notice the random chips when you have a bad round. Damage limitation this week and clear the strikes next week, no problem.

I think with the soft/fast greens it’s making a difference.

Finished at -23. Happy with 4 round in the 60s, but not looking at rentals yet. Still have the bus schedule back to the B handy, but I will wait till they add everything up.
BTW, round 3 winds...used the punch shot more times in that round than I have EVER used it in all my rounds in this game COMBINED!
