...of an never expected stroke of fate within my family.
As our 4-year-old son didn't feel well over the whole weekend, we took him to the hospital. Just to make sure it wasn't something really serious. Oh well, we were disabused... the final diagnosis was absolutely shocking:
He has a malignancy at his suprarenal gland that is already touching his lungs.
I can honestly tell you, this hits you like 2 freight trains at once, especially as there were absolutely no symptoms for this to ever happen.
The one & only good news is that it finally sorted out that he has a form of tumor that has pretty good chances to be fully cured (it could have been even worse, although this sounds pretty ridiculous with a diagnosis like that). He is in good hands in the hospital were we are right now, and he is a strong little boy that will hopefully fight like a super-hero in the upcoming weeks and months, and my family and I we will support him as good as we can, so that we can go back to the life we had before this shocking event.
But we will be in hospital for at least the next 8 weeks (it is planned to start chemotherapy already tomorrow, and in 6 weeks there is going to be a surgery if the tumor has gone back enough), so I will not find nearly as much time for anything else (including TGC) like I was used to. So as a long-time & active member of this community, I just wanted you let you know if I will not show up constantly, will miss events on the tour without telling, or whatever. I'm definitely going to play from time to time, just to find some distraction from all the rest... but just not often I guess.
If you use to pray from time to time, do me a favor and include my little son if you want. I'm sure it would help, as we can require all the support we can get right now.
