The green on hole 18 is a right bugger! I started my first round really badly, with three bogies, but then struggled back to even par, only to take a double bogey on the 18th! Same thing happened in my previous practice round. There must be a better way of approaching that green then I have achieved so far, just got to find it

You know, I think if I was shooting better than -40 on a weekly basis, I’d get bored and quit.
Face the challenges ahead of you, give them your best shot, learn from the experience, get better, and move forward.
Otherwise, feel free to take your entitlement and find a different game, like a coloring book.
(Not directed at any individuals, but admittedly snarky and not at all ashamed about it).

You know, I think if I was shooting better than -40 on a weekly basis, I’d get bored and quit. Some people want a good chance to birdie each hole. They prefer a hole that is like a puzzle they need to figure out, and success is achieved only by making birdie. That idea isn't wrong, either.

Why are people getting worked up? Some like the course, some don't - surely both opinions are valid? I find the course very challenging, probably slightly too challenging given my skill level, in the sense that there is little chance of me hanging on the coat-tails of those who are good. But in the big scheme of things it doesn't really matter. I find the greens very unforgiving with approach shots, so feel I am continually struggling to avoid bogeys. Would I prefer to be struggling to get birdies rather than avoid bogeys? Well yes I would, because a birdie feels good, and a bogey feels disappointing. But the bottom line is that the course is challenging and that has an element of fun in and of itself. So, from my viewpoint, the course is what it is - very challenging for a player of my skill level, but then the only person I can blame for my skill level is myself, so in the end it is all good. I feel nothing but gratitude for whomever took the time to design it, and just wish I had the game to knock it on its ass and take the plaudits!

I'm -8 after 2 rounds (R1 -5, R2 -3) it is a tough course but with the soft greens its easier to get near the pin. With the longer par 5s you have to forget going for the green in 2 and just give yourself an easier lay up shot. The par 3s can have you between clubs and whether to put some loft on your shot or just hope you can catch a slope right to roll it up. It's good to see I'm not the only one who struggled in the 2nd round.

Well... a big fugging dose of reality this week in CC-A up on exemption. Two crap rounds in a row currently has me in 92nd. Gotta get back on the horse and finish this out before returning to CC-B, where I just barely belong anyways.

I definitely enjoyed the length and challenge of the course this week! Yes the greens are fairly unforgiving to approach shots so you have to be strategic. I promise you there are landing zones that are rewarding but they are small windows with some of these pin positions. I'm pretty happy with how I was able to play. A few mistakes here and there hurt my score but I was able to finish -28 for the week.
I am also one who is an advocate for playing courses of all difficulties. We are all playing the same course so how could that be unfair to anyone? Everyone has different skills so if a course does not play well for your game just challenge yourself to come up with a strategy to adapt to the course.

Just played my first round and don't know why but I'm really finding this course tough and practised many times but it's such a battle and finished -2 but at one point end of first 9 I was +5(( Managed to turn it around a little starting the back nine with a few birdies but again come the end a few bogeys so it was a real battle but liking the challenge
Just hope my first exemption in CC Pro C does not end before it's even begun :-) Need to pull my socks up a bit!

Giving myself a chance here! Shot a 65 third round. Sitting at -13 now. Got an eagle on 16 from distance! Still have work to do if I want to stay up here though. My second round weighs heavy. Lol

Hang in there bud! Cheers! I'm trying honestly but anything I do good is then followed by bad and I think the harder I try the worse it gets but one practise round needed now before carrying on :-)

Lol Well done, I'm just the one behind you on -12. I had an up and down start and wasn't tempted to go for the green on the short par 4. I got a few birdies on the board then ruined it with a double bogey. I was aiming for a final score of -20, so doesn't look likely just now. We'll just have to see if we can raise our game on the last round, keep the faith.
