I am very proud to announce my first course has been published. Welcome to The Shores at Gondawana GC I don't have fun storytelling to go along with this as it took all my energy just to complete the course let alone create a side story (maybe the next one) however.... The course name is derived from the super-continent "Gondwana" that existed millions of years ago that slowly drifted south and broke apart. I changed the name to " Gondawana" as i liked it better. A small part of what broke apart is today known as Madagascar!!Details and a few pictures of the course below An Island plot that doesn't present too many hills or challenges off the tee. A couple of opportunities to look out for including a drive-able par 4 - 12th. Greens with some slopes but overall I think they play quite fair. 3 TeesRed 6693 Yds Green 6930 Yds White 7163 Yds Fairways Firm - The minimum Firm setting Greens Firm/Fast - The minimum Firm / Fast setting All feedback (positive and negative) welcome and encouraged - Enjoy!!

You could have warned us to wear sunglasses before opening up the course. Bloody hell it's bright (and that's coming from someone who lives in Queensland).
For a first course this is a very good effort. I felt it was a 3.5 star course but gave it 4 stars. Very solid job.
However I will give some (hopefully) constructive criticism: - The lighting / texture combo didn't work me. Doing a course with what looked like near mid-day sun is hard to get right as it washes everything out. The lime green fairways and greens just felt off. And worse it made the beads difficult to see on the green. - The course felt very flat. Nothing wrong with that, especially for a first course. Well done working that close to the water table. Some of this I think was the lighting / texture combo again as there was certainly plenty of movement on the greens when you got there - With a couple of exceptions, your greens felt a touch on the small side. They felt like less than 20x15 yards max. Try 25x25 or 30x20 next time.
No doubt Griff will point out many other areas of technical improvement but overall this a great foundation. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see this on CC-Am. Keep at it.
BTW, I only managed -3.

Yes it is pretty much midday - some of this was my major dislike for the foggy dark courses and some was because it’s Madagascar . But point well received on washing it out I understand fully what you are saying. Yes it was too flat. I made that mistake and called it out in my “don’t do this” thread in the tips and tricks section. Green size was plotted at about 30 x 30 but some may seem smaller or be smaller. I took feedback from Griff a while back about greens getting too big. Point taken though for future reference. Thanks again for the feedback and kind words. After 100 hours it means a lot.

Maybe its from living in Australia but I'm with you in my dislike for playing dark courses or those where the sun blinds you for half the holes. It looks good in still shots but isn't always nice to play. And in my opinion is unrealistic as you would never get 18 holes played in that light.
However I find you can brighten up the course by going to the 8-10am and 2-4pm time slots without making it too bright.

The general feel of the course will be much more wooded and no more beaches. I was also ver conscious of shadows so kept the sun high.
