Its brutally obvious that I've worked PGA tournaments, I've watched the masters, and not to mention I work in the golf industry. So, your statement is invalid. Have a nice day bud. As someone also employed in the golf industry, I find your statement about spinning balls back off greens...interesting? That's actually something the game doesn't have enough of IMO, the penalty of over spinning full wedge shots into greens. It's why you rarely see the pro's grab the shortest wedge they can and take a 100% full swing to get the full carry distance - those shots will rip back off of the green pretty easily. Hell, even I spin shots back off of greens at times...it's really not a rare thing at all, I don't think. Well before the groove rules, yes. I’m talking nowadays you really don’t see pros like spin it 70 feet off the green where it’s relatively flat and with out a back hill to promote the major spin. Also, it depends on the fairways too but can’t really determine the lie of the fairway (tight lies) in the game that promote spin as well. Another examine is l when you chip downhill it stops on a dime, etc. unless you’re using a spin doctor wedge most of the time it shouldn’t do that lol. Hopefully in 2019 TGC you can get the option for lofts on the wedge to control spin.

You don't see pro's spinning balls off of greens left and right because they're pro's - they know a full go with a wedge will produce too much spin. In game, the only lie variable that matters is the % you see on the HUD, as far as I know. And the spinner chip shots are an entirely separate conversation, those are obviously ridiculous, but unrelated to the discussion at hand. We can agree to disagree I suppose.

I brought up that just to add to how inconsistent the spin is in the game, but I see where you're coming from. Yes I have seen pros spin it off the greens due to the slopes at Augusta when they put the pin in tight spots. I am talking about when the pin is almost on a flat surface and it just zips off the entire green. Its with a lot of other courses too that dont have firm greens (Whistling Straits, etc). I think if TGC could add laying off on a pitching wedge with subtracted yardage, or something because either you get too much spin with a full wedge shot or you get way too much roll out with a pitch shot. Just my two cents.

Missed the exemption cut-line by one stroke! Gah! I switch controllers after the second round, which took me a bit to get used to as it is much newer/tighter. Played some great practice rounds with the new remote so hoping to get the next exemption!
Good luck to the folks that got the AM spots!

I've seen plenty of wedges into greens where the spin is excessive and this will always be exacerbated into a headwind as well.
