Daniel Sheehan v Paul Williams, the rematch.
Just like my first round, a eagle on the second brought a positive start but misjudgments over the next three holes meant I could not push on. I finally started to find my range from the sixth hole and five birdies in a row saw me -7 after ten, Just the same as round one. In that round a double bogey on eleven messed up my round. I was determined not to make the same mistake again. A near perfect tee shot, left me two feet, a tap in birdie and victory was in sight. I made the green on thirteen in two and then proceed to four put, could not believe it, a stupid bogey. I got the shot back on fifteen, so just needed to par or better on last three holes to take the win. Very disappointing par on sixteen , very good par on seventeen so all down to the last. I decided to play safe from the tee and promptly missed the fairway and put the ball in a bunker. I had no option but to pitch out sideways. I was left with a long third shot to the green, did not get as close as I would have liked, leaving around fifteen feet for the win. The putt was not even close, a bogey to leave a headache for Chris with another tied match.
Final Score -7

Its your tourney so you can run it how you see fit but why not give 0.5 points each and then the winner of the next game gets 1 point and wins the round 1.5:0.5? If they halve the next game then they go to your third game course (and possible multiple play-offs at the point)?

The players are enjoying the playoff and it makes it more exciting knowing that there has to be a winner.

Certainly picked wrong time to play this, had between 14 & 20mph winds. Hence my score of 72,(+2). Think that's the door opened wide for you Daniel buddy. Been an epic contest mate.

Daniel Sheehan v Paul Williams Part Three, The Reckoning.
The wind from Paul’s round was still blowing when it was my turn to take to the course. Despite that, I was finding most fairways and greens. The problem was the wind was making it difficult to be accurate, birdie chances were not coming my way. On the fourth, I had a simple four foot par putt, my mind though was still in long range mode and I hammered it over the cup, bogey and thoughts of being banned from all future events by Chris for screwing up his scudule entered my mind. It was par all the way for the remaining front nine, a couple of times having to fight for par. My first birdie came on ten when I nailed the approach for a tap in. I went under par on twelve when I chipped in. My approaches were getting closer, my judgement a little better. The short par four brought birdie number three, I missed the green but had a short chip on and a simple birdie. Two long ranged birdie putts dropped over the closing holes for a finish on four under. A win but one with no real pleasure, it was a epic three rounds that no one deserved to lose. Unlucky Paul this time but this epic was just a battle, the war is still there to be one. Good luck when you visit me here in Cork at Old Head.
Final score -4
