Making really good progress planting in TGC19, so far done with interior planting for holes 1-15.
One of my favorite tee shots from the raised tee box on the par 5 12th hole. Not quite the church pew bunkers at Oakmont but nonetheless very intimidating from the tee, dog leg right with trees blocking the corner
TST guys should really like this as everything on the tee is right there in front of you.....greens a much different story.

Looks awesome Royce. How long do you think you've got left till it's done?

Thanks mate. Really impossible to tell how much more time as I work on it time permitting (fall walleye fishing plus impending FIFA19 patch takes times away from this project), but if the weather were to be bad here in Mich I would estimate 2-3 weeks to publish. My planting bar is only at about 20% with nearly all the interior course complete so I can spend a ton of time on the exterior residential homes that come into view on so many holes and have some fun planting the exterior course. Good news is I'd say greens are 90% complete and same for tee to green sculpting, just need to add fine details.

Great stuff. Aces was saying that Bethpage and Muirfield Village won't be far behind either so a trio of top quality courses coming soon 😀

I've completed interior course planting now through hole 17. I also started some of the exterior course planting on the 17th where the residential homes really come into view. Still a lot of work left to do but it's beginning to come together.
view looking back to the fw from the 8th green.

Looking really nice, Royce. The extra touches for the environment surrounding the course itself greatly increase my enjoyment of a round.

So I’ve been back to work on this the last few days after a rather extended break, glad to say that I do have the practice facility added in along with most of the exterior residential housing. Theres so much plant meter left that I can go 2-3 houses deep in the important spots and also rough in the viewable portion of North course!

I added in most the the North course holes that are viewable from South course and fit on the plot. The exterior perimeter of the course is really coming together and it helps the visuals on the course. I will post some updated pics when I get a chance.

A few updated pics, was able to put about 8 hours into this the last few days and can really start to feel it coming together finally. Also played Han's exceptional The Belfry course (best course is the game bar none IMO) and need to do some additional sculpting after playing his course.
view of roughed in North course holes along with homes on Maple Road. Still need to add the pedestrian bridge over Maple connecting the two courses.
A view from the southeast corner of the plot showing some the residential homes added.
And just a random pic putting on the 17th with some background view starting to come together......

My fav RCR from TGC1, can't wait to play it again. Thanks for putting so much time into it. Loving the overhead pics!

Thanks mate, I'll keep the pics coming as the fine details get added/tuned up. This is when it starts to get fun. If you thought my original OH was good the new one absolutely blows it away, not even in same league and it makes me want to vomit when I go back to look at the original course for reference purposes lol.

I'm not sure I or many others would agree about it being the best course in game but thanks anyway This is looking great btw, should be fantastic when you finish but then I wouldn't expect anything else from you.

I never pick A favorite but, the Belfry is certainly one of the best RCR's in the game.

Quick update; unfortunately after spending some time chatting with aces and playing his wonderfully updated Copperhead along with another different disappointing RCR I realized that I needed to give my current Oakland Hills the "aces treatment" and resurface the entire course using splines (originally laid out in TGC2 using brushes and splined in light rough), it's just such a cleaner look. So I've begun tracing out and ripping up each fairway and green, leaving the bunkers in place. This provides a really interesting view of the "raw" course terrain and also has helped me improve the sculpting seeing it in this way. Once I got the hand of the process it goes pretty quickly, I have the entire front 9 resurfaced already in about 3 days.
The most astonishing part is the sheer amount of individual brushes that I originally laid down for the greens, fw & rough. The most arduous part is deleting all of the brushes, but at least the course file size is bound to decrease a bit now I assume!
Cheers, Royce

I was able to completely resurface the fw's and greens for all 18, once I got the process down it was a breeze. Now I have to go back and touch up the first few holes. It looks so much cleaner with splines, unbelievable difference compared to using brushes.
Here's a few recent pics showing a few of my favorite views on the course....
