What is the rule, if any about practice rounds...honor system as to which is your practice and which is for real?

What is the rule, if any about practice rounds...honor system as to which is your practice and which is for real? You can play practice Rds as strokeplay, not stableford.

Back in the Knockout Semis. I can't believe I'm back in the Knockout Semis. Crap.
First off, best of luck to my esteemed opponent, who I believe may be new to the invitational, though I may be mistaken. I often am. Good luck, Mr. Gold!
Two very different, equally interesting courses, both with their respective trappings - Ninja likes to ramp things up as the finals near. Good old Ninja.
Coronado - with its unwavering sunrise/sunset (couldn't tell what time it was that day, as the sun refused to budge as the round proceeded), the sky shrouded with a glowing orange fog that made me feel as if the local nuclear power plant had recently had another accident. Half expected to be set upon by numerous kaiju on the course. The designer could have placed a few grossly overgrown critters on the periphery - would have perfected that illusion.
Old Romney - never having been a fan of the ultra dry, ultra firm, ultra fast, ultra brown courses, I gazed upon the grounds, with its chain link fences, burned out shacks, and fairway craters, and I was given the impression of an artillery range turned golf course. The residential structure at the start/turn/finish resembled an abandoned barracks, and the straight lines present on the boundaries made me think the bomber plane circling overhead was waiting its turn to land. I was certain I would step on an old land mine and cut my tournament short. Thankfully it was not to be, and I was able to piece together a very strange round.
On both courses, I perpetually felt like I wasn't scoring anything at all close to something resembling competitive, so to my surprise, I didn't end terribly. Ended up fine on Coronado, so when I started Romney Air Force Base (retired), I had a little confidence, which was very short lived. Barely watched my scorecard, which the occasional glance revealed an unusual number of 1's and 2's. I was certain I was heading for a sub-30 round. My ever present PSN name highlighted on the score bug only cemented the notion that yes, I am truly a bad golfer.
So imagine my surprise, after only a single birdie out of 18 holes, I saw 4's under #9 and #18. How on earth did I get two eagles without any awareness of it? Was the radioactive fog of Coronado lingering in my brain, causing me to sleepwalk over the bombed out terrain of Romney AFB? Turns out the lone birdie was on 17, so I closed with 7 points over the last two holes. Lo and behold, what felt like a 20 ended up being quite different. Not the greatest, but certainly not disastrous.
TL;DR - I may have been just good enough to put the pressure on Mr. Gold...
Mark Lawrence - Amateur Semi-Final (once again...crap)
Coronado 43 Old Romney 37
Total 80
Who's buying me the next round?
