After speaking to Duds, who used to set a divisional banter thread each event, then the idea, because of low post counts in past, is now to have this one thread and i will post the new event each week for members to chat about anything relevant to that particular competition throughout the season. I am only doing this as Duds is due to be absent from here in a few months time. Please just chat away ;-) WEEK 1 : Billy Mays Memorial....The Bass Falls Pro Classic @ The Kenzatillie Club

After R1 (-4) and R2 (-3) I can't complain about too much other than some mistakes on my part leading to some unwanted bogeys and 1 double bogey. Mainly misreading greens. Somehow at Kenzatillie I keep ending up with obnoxiously long putts. Im talking 70-80 footers. If I accidentally dial up too much and fly the flag I end up rooting my ball to get off the green so I can flop it close since I suck at long putts... but on this particular course a lot of them tend to stay on the green lol. When it happens I hang my head in shame knowing most likely a 3 putt is going to happen. If anyone has any pointers on long putts let me know!

The wind in Round 1 was what affected me since I was getting around -7 in practice with nice calm wind then ended up with a -3 for the official round. Practice rounds for pin setup 2 I'm getting around -9, so we'll see if that translates to the tournament. After R1 (-4) and R2 (-3) I can't complain about too much other than some mistakes on my part leading to some unwanted bogeys and 1 double bogey. Mainly misreading greens. When it happens I hang my head in shame knowing most likely a 3 putt is going to happen. If anyone has any pointers on long putts let me know! I definitely experience this too. If you catch a green right or miss aim (due to the wind or not) then you could end up with a 50+ ft first putt. That's very irritating. For those long putts I over exaggerate my compensation for the break and hit the ball softer than normally would (hitting it lighter than the marker). Hopefully that puts you within 15 ft from the hole.

I had the same issue. I also practiced on Blues thinking that's what we'd be playing based on previous rounds, but it ended up being black.
Shot a -5 (but had to sink some long putts to do it), then had an even par in round 2. Round 2 the wind was calmer but the pin locations are brutal on a couple. I've got a -4 going in round 3 but all of a sudden there is a weird lagging happening and I didn't want to ruin my score trying to play through it.
I have no idea what the promotion line is going to be on this one given the significantly different scores I'm seeing on the leaderboard on the PC in game.

Just got my D card! WOot! Posted for this tournie -2 -7 -6 Haven't started 3rd round yet. Soon as I saw the 17mph winds on the opener I figured I would take 2 more days of practice to get down the pen locations. I am hoping just to stay above the exemption line in this group, although a -24 would have tied me for second last week Update: Just completed round 3 with a -6 under. Missed about 3 prime birdie putts but am happy keeping up with my goal average of -6 per round. I peeked in on the 4th round before bed and the winds look nice at 5 mph to start. I hope to keep my head on straight and finish strong and keep away from those nasty strikes. KC

Dear god sometimes this game can be frustrating. Was halfway through my 4th round, doing pretty good at -14, had an eagle already, then all of a sudden I hit a slow shot (out of no where, not a single one the rest of the round) right when I have coastline on my slice side. Of course end up in the water. If that wasn't bad enough, I miraculously get the ball up on the green with a makeable bogey putt from 18 feet (albeit a tricky one), I not only miss that but I proceed to 4 putt to a quad.
My round without that quad, -4, putting me at -15. With that one hole, I'm at -11. The difference between an exemption and barely making the cut I'm guessing.

Ok, so I'm playing in only my second event, sporting two demotion strikes already and using tour clubs that go fast, slow, fast all the freaking time. Can't hit a putt for birdie to save my life. #18 treating me like a little B!$ch.
-2, then even through my first two rounds.
Still better than last week.

Going back to the week 1 tournament at Kenzatillie... I shot -8 to finish above the strike for the first time in my third attempt. Very please.
I thought the course was outstanding, put together superbly with great care. It's the first 5* rating I've given and it is the 15th course I have played.
I'm not playing this week at The Sleeping Giant as I doubt I'll have time to play all four rounds.

Holy high winds!!! My ball was blowing all over the place the first round. As open as The Sleeping Giant is, it has a lot of elevation changes and I had a pretty tough time shooting a 72 E in my first round.
Some excitement happened on hole 7 though. Par 5, I hit a really nice drive then I hit my approach shot which rolled onto the green and right at the flag. Was dead at it. I was getting ready to celebrate my first Albatross. I see my ball slowing down and it hits the flag stick and barely bounces out an inch or two!!! It was rolling slow enough that it definitely could have fallen. Guess it wasn't in the cards. But I couldn't complain about a tap in Eagle. I have no idea how it stayed out of the cup!
