Hey guys, I've discovered a helpful trick you can do with multi-level water in order to get rid of that ugly brown texture. enjoy!
STEP 1 Create the base water
STEP 2 Using the multi-level water feature, place another body of water below this. IMPORTANT- the second lake HAS HAS HAS to be below the bottom of the original lake- otherwise it does you NO good.
STEP 3 Just an example... it's kind of tough to see in desert theme.
STEP 4 Just for you, I switched area 51, aka my test plot, to boreal...
I haven't tested two specific things that you may be wondering, but I'll test them eventually... A. if this works below the base water level B. if you can place other surfaces, such as fairway or sand, and see them
hope you enjoyed!

Clever idea Jacob. Will definitely have to mess around with it a bit, thanks for the tip.

Step 4 looks like a great place to fish

I tested and you can put other surfaces than heavy rough. Be careful with bunkers- they change the terrain just like they would if there wasn't water there.

This is fantastic! I tested it and it indeed does work with the light rough surface, meaning I can have the properly shaved banks on the ponds on 15 & 16 at Augusta! Thanks for discovering and sharing this mate, much appreciated.
And you can indeed place multi-level water under the default water table to create the same effect, now proper shaved banks on Rae's Creek also! One minor issue, if you plant ml water under default water table you need to cover the entire area of the default water, otherwise the appearance of the water won't match, default water is very dark, can't see the bottom through the water whereas ml water is transparent......just takes more time and attention to detail since the bottom of water bed is clearly visibly now.

It doesn't matter how deep the 2nd level is as long as it under the 1st . I covered my hole hole course to do all the water in one go and with a little sculpting afterwards it look good in places like streams.

Does this still work or has it been patched out?
If it is still working, has anyone done a video / stream demonstrating the technique?

Thanks.
I was struggling to get it to work last night. Does the bottom water (placed second) need to be below the "lake bed" on which the texture is placed? Does it matter where in the order the texture is placed?

Thanks. I was struggling to get it to work last night. Does the bottom water (placed second) need to be below the "lake bed" on which the texture is placed? Does it matter where in the order the texture is placed? I may have misunderstood your question, but the new body of water needs to be below the bottom of the higher body of water.

I finally got it. I missed that you have to use Advanced Edit to get the second water level below the first. Duh! Thanks for this tip!
